I dont know if your aware, but programs like this have been made for other games also.

there was one made for MW2 (also first posted in Steam Forums), which was a great tool, you could back up your player profile with that, incase you entered a hacked game that gave you weapons and levels a first timer shouldnt have had access too amongst other things. I personally used it for turning off the kids abusing each other via ingame text  Which wasnt an option in game.

But i digress, tools like this arent seen as a bad thing usually by a majority of PC gamers. Most players tweek one of two settings to suit them selves. As long as its not giving you see through walls, which if it did, would have been took down by a Steam Moderator and wouldnt have been posted about by a reputable gaming magazine either.
So in this case, I wouldnt worry about this particuler program chap :)

It's a simple config maker app. Everything that app. can do can be done by opening Notepad and a few .cfg files.... that app just saves time.

Yeah, I would DL it and use it, especially if you aren't comfortable messing with config files.

You "runn'ed" it did ya? Excellent. Rosettastone/English Grammar might be a good one to check out next. :P

Companies simply don't have the resources or time (read: manpower/money... it's not free ya know) for this sort of thing. You may as well go ask Microsoft if it's okay to run because it's running on a Windows platform.

The community is who you should be asking, or you could just read and respond to the already existing threads here on the official forums and on the Steam forums ("search" is your friend).

Lol no offense but them not having the time or money to make a simple config program is a BS. They dont have this kind of thing because they dont want people who dont know what theyre doing to mess with these kinds of advanced settings, which may very well break your game. Its for advanced users(not that Id consider editing cfg or ini files as being advanced).

All that program does is edit the autoexec.cfg file for you, you dont actually need to use it to be able to do that.

NOTE: If you change settings and dont want to keep them do NOT just remove the entry, you have to change it back to its default because removing it doesnt reset it.

You didn't quote me but it does seem you're responding to me... so... What was meant, and I'm sure most folks picked up on this, is that they (SD) don't have any budgeted time/money to check every piece of 3rd-party software designed for use with their product but made by someone outside of their company. This thread has at no time been about SD themselves making something like this program.
