Nifskope craziness

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:39 am

I'm not sure if this forum is the right place for this question, but here goes.

I recently had to reformat my HD, and re-install everything. I installed Nifskope, but when I try to run it I get "This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way".
I had nifskope installed before and it worked fine. I've installed the visual c++ 2008 redistributables, upgraded my video driver and already searched the niftools site for hours with no success. Any idea what's wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Might I suggest the Niftools forum?

The OP has already tried the Niftools forum and thus was posting here - I suggest that you google the error
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
you'll get a lot of hits and might be able to narrow it down to either c++ or a windows error

According to the Niftools help forum Nifskope doesn't even use visual C++. I'm completely stumped. Maybe someone else will have had this problem and solved it. You never know. :)

Had the same problem after a PC crash and wasn't able to solve it ever. All nifskope versions since 1.2.0 did cause that error, but older ones seem to work though. So I'd try an older nifskope build and see if it works!!! ;)
