S.P.E.C.I.A.L Stats for this playthrough

Hey guys. Going to come back to Fallout: NV and play again. Past 3 play throughs i've plade a sneaky sniper, and LOVED it. Now I want to play a non-sneaking automatic weapons char. Not heavy duty rocket launchers, just assault rifles. However i'm completely confused, since i've always played sneak characters. What S.P.E.C.I.A.L points should I invest in, and what skills should I focus on.

Going to play hardcoe if that affects the answer :)

Thanks guys!

I'd wager at least a STR 5+ for most weapons without the perk that eases up on the STR min.
AGL for AP.
If you just use guns, then focus on guns.
I'd imagine if on hardcoe, you'd also want to raise survival.

Strength: 5, Perception: 8, Endurance: 5, Charisma: 4, Intelligence: 8, Luck: 5
Five Endurance can you a decent amount of Implants from Usanagi. Less Charisma if you want to be more combatant. Higher Intelligence and Perception for more Skill Points and better accuracy. Go for Guns obviously and pick whatever else you want. Probably Speech to offset lower Charisma.
That seems pretty good to me.

Whatever you do don't put any points in to luck, it just seems like a waste; I've done a playthrough with Luck at 10 and now one at 1 and the only difference is less critical hits.

You're kidding right? Luck is the single most important stat for anyone who plans on having a crit based build, and it's one of the most important stats for any build imo. Luck is essential if you want to do any gambling. Luck is essential if you want the better criticals perk. Luck is extremely important to Dead is Dead players because scoring critical hits will save you when fighting tough enemies. Luck may or may not protect you from critical hits (I'm not sure about that but it seems to be the case). So yeah, I'd say luck is far from a waste of points. Even on a build where being able to score critical hits doesn't matter I would still keep luck at a 5 (if playing Dead is Dead).

I'm just saying, for me I haven't noticed much of a difference between Luck-1 and Luck-10, if anything it's been easier since my other skills are higher. I've never gambled btw.

What do you mean "crit based build"?
