Better bodies esp. That's all I'm working with right now.
Says this when I open morrowind and click data files it states: Morrowind esm is required for this to be loaded, and it has changed more recently than this file. You might experience problems with the game.
And boy am I! I'm about to break everything so frustrated!...

I just clicked play it goes through the bethesda thing.. now at the load screen it says: one of the files that Kbetter bodies esp" is dependant on has changed since the last save. This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message but not necessarily fix any errors. Continue running executable? Yes no.....
Now I clicked yes. Now main menu... new load options... ect.. click new... or load... looks like it may load goes as far as initializing blah blah... bam morrowind has encountereda problem and needs to close. We are sorry for your inconvenience. Has three buttons debug.. send error report... don't send... I've clicked debug.. unistalled and reinstalled twice.... even redid better bodies mod again... still same problem. I'm about to.. well alreadyy did lol but freak... thanks.

Uhh... open Better Bodies.esm in Enchanted Editor and save it. That should re-do the dates and set you right. Might have to open it in Wrye Mash and rework it, not sure.

Open Wrye Mash, find Better Bodies.esp, right click it, click File->Redate on the right click menu, and hit OK. Try again.


Not sure why MW is crashing. Does it crash without the mod loaded?

No... I can play without the mod.. and its honestly the only mod I have right now but it won't even work... thanks though I'm trying it now!

Oh... and I don't have wrye mash or any other app that u need... whatever those are...

Do you have Morrowind and both expansions? Is the game fully patched?

Could we see your modlist? (Bottom of your morrowind.ini file) Also the entire contents of your warnings.txt file would be useful too.

I have just morrowind without the expansions... which I can't stand enough... but it was all I could find out here.. but I haven't run any mods. All I've tried to run so far is better bodies... and a ring some boots and an upgraded bluebrand that I did myself... but even not running those I've had problems.. I can't find the warning txts tho...

Morrowind.ini and Warnings.txt are in your install directory. Should be something like C:/Program Files/Bethesda/Morrowind/

maybe try fixing the main game problems themselves before trying to install mods?

lol... yea none of it is working and im really frustrated... which svcks when ur frustrated at ur favorite game!
and no patches nothing... just installing the game then adding in the better bodies.. its still the same problem..

ok so i got a guide... im starting from scratch.... unistalling everything deleting everything and redoing everything... rather rediculous... but im going to try it and go by the T... as if i have never done a mod before cuz it looks like i dont know what im doing anymore... although ive played games and installed over a hundred mods to a game before and never had a problem like this... although it was a time back but thanks.. and if anyone else might know how to help me.. please... heres the scoup... i have morrowind (no expansions) i havent done squat to it... patches? idk what i need (so i havent any). getting my mods to work starting off with the minimun of one mod which is better bodies 2.2 yada yada. which i cant even get it to work cuz it flips out on me. i explained it above.. the first problem that i stated though i was able to make go away and it quit asking run executable.. but it still crashes whenever i try to make a new game.. and when i load one it gets to initializing and then crashes sorry for the inconvenience bullness.. so im starting over unistalling i got a guide so im going to make do with it.. see if it helps. but i could also use some help if its not explained in there thank you. any ideas? sugestions?

It just doenst work. I redid everything. Restored to factory default settings delted everything including data files this way. So reinstalled the game. Then the better bodies is auto extract so I did that. Now.. made a new game... crashes... sorry for the inconvenience.. then says debug thensend error report then don't send...anyone know what I'm missing?

Why not just try and get the game running without mods first?

Start the Morrowind Launcher > Data Files > untick everything apart from Morrowind.esm

Click Play

Start a New Game

What happens? Does it crash straight to desktop (CTD) or is there an error message?

Write down (or copy and paste if possible) the full error messages you see (if any).

Please copy and paste the contents of your warnings.txt file (same location as Morrowind.exe and Morrowind.ini)

Also, try and write in sentences with full stops and without ellipses. Try and be as factual and complete as you can rather than just :


Seriously, help us to help you. Be clear, be complete and think about the person reading. Sentences and paragraphs have been A Good Idea in writing for a long time.

Right. I can play my morrowind game without this one mod, better bodies 2.2. The game runs fine, except whenever I open the morrowind launcher check the better bodies. That is when I have a problem. Other than better bodies I have run no other mods or try to.
I am only attempting or attempted to use just this one mod. I can play the game without it no problems. Its when I open morrowind go to data files tick the better bodies then click play.
Now the game goes to the menu I click load it goes on as if loading.. then it will crash with the standard error message sorry for the inconvenience then it has a debug button along with the usual send error report button and the don't send button.
Everything for better bodies is in the right places within the data files..

I'm also trying to do the copy and paste but the computer doesn't have internet.. I'm on my G1 phone now.. and I do wat I can at a library then play on the comp.. but I've explained it the best I can. Thanks.

Well, reading your 5 sentences above, I get your computer has no internet. You post through a phone, and maybe you're at a library. If your computer has bluetooth, try sending pictures. Warnings.txt is very important here.

OK so the error message does sounds like the standard Windows one ("this program has encountered a problem and must close, click here to send an error report to Microsoft" or however it goes).

Now what's weird is that that's happening because of a mod.

Can you check your Data Files folder? Does it have these files and folders in:

Data Files	|	+-Meshes	|	|	|	+bb	|	|	|	+lots of *.DDS	|	+-Textures	|	|	|	+bb	|	|	|	+lots of *.NIFs	|	better bodies.esp

What OS are you on?

Do you have http://wryemusings.com/index.html#WryeMash? (Although I guess without internet, no)

But yeah, as vtastek says a warnings.txt would be handy.
