How would the Mojave survive a Tunneler invasion...

K so Indy Vegas or Mr. House, you have tons of robots ready to kill threatening targets on sight, and based on what we know about Tunnelers, they probably wouldn't attack Securitrons. They seek the scent of blood, which securitrons lack. This puts both of those in a fairly good position for defending New Vegas and surviving a Tunneler invasion.

But NCR and Legion? How are they gonna survive such a thing? Hell, we've seen what the Tunnelers did to NCR troopers in the Divide...

Those things sure did fine tunneling through rock in some of the caves, not to mention the piles of rubble and concrete...

Take nukes out of silos ---> Turn nukes upside down ---> Put nukes back into silos ---> launch.

It attacks the Tunneler's homeland; they won't know what hit 'em.

But seriously, I think Securitrons could handle it, and don't forget that they are afraid of direct sunlight. That means that they would only be a nocturnal threat in the Mojave, and that they would be vulnerable during the day.

In my backyard we have this device that emits a sound underground to keep "Sorks" away, they're basically rats which infest gardens.
I'd get a bunch of those and plant them around the Mojave.

And yes, it'd work.

On Topic:
I hate tunnelers both as concept and as creatures..
But on this subject I'll play along:
As long as they are out in the open no faction in Vegas should have problems with them, and as far as we know they only became a problem after the courier delivered his/her package... In other words if they would spread out from the divide (which I doubt, but Gingy and others would probably like me to stay out of that discussion) ... I think they will disturb the eco-system ... especially nightstalkers and deathclaws... and scavengers..
The city of Vegas itself as well as the direct surroundings has lights + noise, so everything needed to keep the tunnelers away..
A town like goodsprings would be risky, it is surrounded by caves.. and doesn't have trem...eh tunneler proof housing..

Lonesome Road is such a lore-breaking add-on, even though it was fun to play, I really, really hope none of it becomes canon, in particular the nukes. But on topic: the people of the wastelands have dealt with a lot worse threats *cough* deathclaws *cough* and eventually managed to make life habitable (at least in the Core Region) so I don't really consider the tunnelers a existential threat to civilization.

On topic: I am not sure the Mojave could survive a tunneler invasion. But then again it all depends on how big the invasion is and the defense agaisnt it. I doubt the tunnelers would have any military like invasion of the Mojave. They would just start coming into it and maybe people would figure it out in time to organise a defense.

The people of the Mojave would need alot of explosives and sonic based weapons to fight them off. They would need to go into the Divide and hunt and kill as many of them as possible.

Mr. House - The Securitrons could easily take out the Tunnelers. Maybe 10 of them attacking one will be a problem but after seeing one go down like that, House would immediately switch the game plan to having at least 3 Securitrons backing each other up.

Indie - Same thing. Maybe with a bit more damage since the Courier would be calling the shots and he can't do immediate action since he has to work through Yes Man.

NCR - They'd lose so much. Hundreds of soldiers would die. But NCR could also easily take them out in the grand scheme of things because of how many people they have and such a threat would mean that the NCR would probably start drafting.

Legion - Legion would also lose quite a bit of soldiers but not as much as NCR. They're so well trained in hand to hand combat that a Centurion could probably take one or two tunnelers easily with nothing but a machete. Either way, they use hivemind tactics and so do the tunnelers. Similar to NCR.
