Is it limiting the franchise?
I mean, its' great to have a retro-futuristic perspective on what the 50's thought it would be like.
But why did everything simply "stop" beyond thigns like power armor and crap?
Whenever someone asks for new music they go "It's not 50's!"
Whenever someone asks for modern weapons they go "It's not 50's!!!1!"
Why does the 50's aspect have to be a tight noose around the neck of the franchise exactly?
I mean yeah, it's important to the setting, but what about the realism of it all?
It's been 118 years since 1959 when the bombs dropped.
Are we seriously going to be completely blind towards progress?
Yes, we have some fictional weapons in the game, but why can't any modern weapons be in it?
Yes, the 50's music is very iconic, but why is it that seemingly no others music were made past the 50's and 60's?
So what is your opinion on it all?
I think that the retro-futurism perspective on what the 50's thought it would be like is great for the setting overall.
But I don't mind the occasional modern stuff.
Take 70's music for example, would it really be so horrible to have one or two songs from the 70's in the next game?
Would it really be so bad to see a pair of designer glasses from the 00's?
I'm afraid that the 50's aspect is a noose that is held too tight around Fallout's neck.
It shouldn't necessarily be taken off, but it should be loosend a bit.
