Updating Mods that are part of saved game

Let's say you've been using a house mod and it's part of your saved game. You like it, but now you want to redecorate it a bit in the CS. However, you've also made some changes to your house that are part of the saved game and you want to keep them (i.e. put some crap in your storage). Is there a recommended way to update your saved game if you edit this mod in the CS without having to abandon your house, go to a different cell, unload the mod, wait 3 days, start over, etc...?

I understand that updating a mod in the CS can change object refs which can then royally screw your game, but is using the MW Code patch and Wrye Mash helpful? Let's say there is a bed in the house mod, it's part of your save, you open the mod in the CS and move the bed. Will it's reference id change? If so, can Wrye Mash figure out that it's the same object or will you now have 2 beds if load the mod?

Thanks

Wrye Mash has an updating feature for just that purpose. Read http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Mash.html#UsinganUpdatedVersionofaMod

Adding or deleting things will create new references, moving things won't; however some non-static objects may have their position saved in the savegame and won't always be updated in the game. Watch out for issues with NPCs in particular.
