Western Brotherhood or Eden's Enclave

Post » Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:40 pm

So, I often hear a lot of arguements about who is a better organization, and its almost always compared with the Enclave that went with Autumn, and the Brotherhood of Steel from the East Coast...

I really dont consider either of them the basis of the true organization...
In comparison, with the true uneditted versions, what is better?

For the unaware I'll describe the actual organizations..

Western Brotherhood of Steel - Very similar to the Fallout 3 "Outcasts." They are generally only driven by the idea of gaining technology and otherwise have little to no regard for life as an important resource, as the saying goes "Everyone knows how to make another human, but the secrets to making a P-91 Plasma Rifle are all but lost."
They don't take in outsiders for any reason and generally only have interest in technology based on combat/warfare

Eden's Enclave - VERY hell bent on destroying anything and everything "corrupted" by the powers of radiation, generally they kill all radiated beings even humans. Have a very strong and high grasp on technology. Eden's idea of America is to be pure and unradiated in every sense, and even with a virtuous cause then go about it in a violent and immoral way.

I personally would choose Western Brotherhood, technology is the basis of our society now. How many of you wouldn't be able to get along in your job and otherwise if there was no presence of technology? No computers, no phones, no automated tools.
I think that their cause despite their negative attitude to people is an important and possible one. Although with the Enclave their goal is unreasonable in my opinion. For one, it is impossible to defend against radiation if within its presence, despite what Fallout 3 might tell you. Radiation cannot be "Shielded" you cant wear a suit and consider yourself protected, radiation is made up of unstable atoms with electrons that go onto other atoms and make them instable. So in this sense if anything touches the radiation it is going to be instable, even a few seconds in radiation like fallouts can render your organs instable as they dont recognize the changed atoms.
Also, there is no such thing as rad away, you cant drink some fluid and it will recreate your atoms as normal again. It makes no sense scientifically. So with that in mind I think the enclave has a silly idea and should work on creating America to the best that they can without using the silly idea of getting rid of radiation.

I think the Enclave is the better organization, they're the only ones trying to form a working government and aren't as evil as some people think the Enclave troops were told to give water to human wastelanders.

The Enclave didn't plan to go around killing everyone who is even slightly irradiated only those who are clearly no longer human like ghouls and super mutants their main problem is they dint care about the difference between feral and non-feral

Western BoS. They have alot of Tech including vertibirds. They have branchs from coast to coast. Eden's Enclave does not seem to have that high of goals anymore. In FO2 the Enclave wanted to kill all mutations (everyone not inoculated from their modded FEV) in the world!. In FO3 they settle for an idea that would only kill the mutations in DC and it would not even kill all of them, they would figure it out and move away. With the tech and numbers the Enclave have in FO3 including Broken Steel, they could have just gone in there and killed everything with good old fashioned Lazers and plasma.

Thats what i salute "With the tech and numbers the Enclave have in FO3 including Broken Steel, they could have just gone in there and killed everything with good old fashioned Lazers and plasma." In all realism bethesda should have just had the Enclave use their Orbital Strike right off and remove the BOS from the problem lol..

It's why I think the Enclave being in FO3 was just a half baked idea. They are so powerful and have alot of rare tech like force fields, brain controlled Deathclaws and Orbital Weapons going up against wastelanders with crap old hunting rifles, do gooder BoS and dumb super mutants. They could have taken DC with ease. But NO, they had to have a dumbed down plan that did not work the first time back west and it all came down to "will the lone wanderer agree to help? (gosh I hope he says yes or are plans will be ruined >.<)

Half baked idea to add them or just over all bad story telling?

No offence Commander.

Well if it's Eden's Enclave, three-dimensional and deep as they are (*cough* not), then I'd go with the Brotherhood, particularly if it's the original Brotherhood. Now Autumn's Enclave is another matter.

There is no Autumns Enclave.. Hes a Traitor lol.. Therefor no longer a Part of the Enclave. As for you Styles Yes that was HORRIBLE and VERY unrealistic story telling and scripting lol.. Blame Bethesda that a 19 year old can take on the most advanced and elite Military force left and can outsmart a super computer not to mention OHH! we just happen to find his self Destruct code... LAME lol just totally lame..

The Brotherhood on the West Coast takes the cake. As far as goals go, stockpiling, improving, and saluaging technology is the best way to make a government, rather than forcing pre-war ideals or acting like a charity (East Coast BOS).

Eden's Enclave is close though. Sacrificing the non-feral ghouls to destroy all the super mutants AND save humanity. WOW! But it's not an effective political agenda, and it wasn't organized well enough.
