Stuck Spell Effect

Post » Sun Dec 13, 2009 11:59 pm

Hoping someone has a magic console command or something... I've been running around for several days now with a permanent "Eye of Night" effect. I'm not Khajiit, and I'm not aware that I did anything to cause it to happen. The effect just seemed to appear at random one day, and it won't go away. I'm running FCOM 0.9.9. Is there any way to get rid of the effect short of going back to an old save and hoping it doesn't happen again?

Are you wearing an enchanted night eye effect item?, if not have you tried dispel, type in tgm on the console first if you do not have the mysticism level.
Or try to recast a nighteye and see if it goes away when it wears off.

There are mods that make night-eye a toggleable ability instead of timed one (only for khajiits AFAIK though). Check your active effects (the final tab in Magic section of the journal), night-eye should be listed, and the skill/magic/item granting it should be named.

I tried a night eye potion, and it didn't change anything. I also tried a low-level dispel. I'll try a higher-level one. Will dispel 100 typically dispel anything? It's not just "night eye", it's listed as the "Eye of Night" lesser power. What can remove that?

I'm not sure if that feature is wrapped into any of my mods, but I'm a high elf anyway. In my effects list, it's actually listed as "Eye of Night", the Khajiit lesser power.

The effect does go away when I die. I plan to try going to jail to see if that helps somehow.

Hmm that's strange, as the Eye of Night should only last 30 secs.

Edit: maybe this may help.
Type into the console command *player. addspell 00047AE0 then cast the power.
Then type into console command * player. removespell 00047AE0 rest an hour and see if the effect goes away.
I tried it out, but as I do not run the exact mods you do it may not .it worked for my unbugged try though.

Otherwise.
The higher the better for dispel, but abilities probably would not be affected sorry. It does sound like a bug now if getting arrested does not help try the chapel alters?
But by the sounds of it you may need to reload, try the mod page see if the mod you think its from has an open page, or try a search it may be a known bug.

Success! Upon casting the spell the first time, the night eye effect went away. I'm guessing one of my mods must include the "toggleable eye of night" ability and some other bug accidentally activated that power somehow... Dunno, but it's off now, and successive castings do toggle it on and off without a timer. Thanks a bunch for all of your help!
