Veronica levelling bug

i've heard of a bug that prevents Veronica from levelling along with the player. It's been confirmed for the PC version, but does it apply to PS3, as well?

I'm playing on PS3 and I can't get Veronica to join my party. I keep getting I can have you join me right now.

Wait, the companions level up with you? I was unaware of that.

Veronica is currently not leveling in my game, she's been stuck at 215 HPs since recruiting her.
