Is Betheseda even looking at the forums?

Post » Tue Dec 15, 2009 6:55 am

We're digging through a number of places where issues are being reported -- here in the forums, in other forums, our company inbox, our blog inbox, etc, etc. We're definitely paying attention and passing along information to testers and developers.

What's with all the stealthy replies? Can't you just tell us which bugs you are working on? If you can't fix the laggyness/freezing then we'd like to know so we can return our games.

They are obviously working on a second patch to address these issues with locking up and freezing but i believe that it will take some time before it hits the PSN. I mean, this is hard work and a lot of testing should be done to prevent it to fix these issues and then break another. I for one, sure don′t mind waiting for a good patch.

Don't get me wrong, I really have no problem with shelving the game for a week or two if I knew a patch for these problems was coming. But that's the trouble, they have made no indication that they are actually trying to fix these issues! It wouldn't take 2 minutes to type up a quick post letting us know they are aware of these issues and are trying to fix them.

From what little I have read they are targeting the small, niggly glitches, not the massive gamebreaking ones such as lag/freezing/save corruption.

A quick glance at the Fallout 3 forum doesn't fill me with much hope as that game is still experiencing freezing!

I would place a very large bet on them not fixing New Vegas either.

If they're going to take some time with the patch, hopefully the fix more than one game breaking issue...IE: Faction/Reputation glitch.

I try to be optimist here but sometimes i think just like you do. I mean, the left Fallout 3 to rot and never addressed any of the major complaints there.

I haven't found too many game breaking bugs in F03 as I've played it, maybe some freezing here and there, but that's just when I take a break for a little while and play it some more later and it seems to run smooth again.

Patchy, I agree with what you're saying, it's the main reason I started the thread tbh. I was hoping to get a response out of the devs, but so far I've only seen a moderator, which...no offense, does us no real good.

Look at the post above, posted yesterday in this very thread. Ummm, looks like the Community Manager for Bethesda.

You're not getting what most of us are getting at, considering this game is as buggy as it is you would think they would atleast keep in touch with the community everyday until atleast most of the game breaking bugs are fixed. I honestly don't believe it would be too hard for them to make maybe 3-4 posts a day atleast to update us and let us know that they're reading the forums and trying to find a way to fix the issues we've posted for them. At the moment, until they post something new for us, I'm just assuming that our comments are falling on deaf ears.

The latest post they have for us was 2 days ago.

I think all of the people complaining about the patch not doing anything need to realize that the patch fixed 200 quest-related things if I remember correctly. There was no mention about them fixing the stability of the game, so saying it still freezes after the patch means nothing because that is not what the patch was intended to fix.

That's fine if that's not what they intended to fix, but the issue is that the patch caused the game to freeze more than compared to BEFORE the patch. I've never been kicked back to the XMB on the ps3 until I updated to the 1.01 patch. People are mad because the patch has done more harm than good.

I am really sceptical about whether this game will ever be fixed or not.

Remember, the Fallout 3 GOTY Edition is nearly unplayable for many people... the DLC was so bad it even ruined the framerate of the entire game.
Yet Bethesda does not respond in the PS3-tech-issues-forum, makes no statements on the bug issues and apparently has no intention of fixing the issues. All that was ever fixed there were minor issues, but none of the serious problems.

I seriously hope you will fix this game, Bethesda... I have lost hope for F3, eventhough you should still patch it since you keep selling it and the broken dlc to this day... but I don′t think you will. Turn Fallout: New Vegas into a stable game please, or just stop doing console games.

Strangely, I am pretty sure one of you guys at Bethesda responded to a comment on the official PlayStation-blog before release that the game was stable. I can′t find it anymore though... I wonder if that response has quietly been deleted?

Luckily I didn't have any trouble with FO3, guess I was one of the lucky ones. I'm not going to have any further trouble with New Vegas either as I returned it this morning for a refund.

Could they be any more vague? They haven't acknowledged ANY of the major problems! Why do some people feel the need to stick up for them no matter what? They released a broken game, they should take the flack for it.

Lol? Not my fault if you don't act your age. Tbh, you can easily get a game like this when you're 10 yrs old, my younger brother asks my parents to buy him different things all the time. Also, I'm beginning to think that you and dingus are one in the same. Dingus is your original name and you made unhappycustomer while throwing your little temper tantrum.

Jeeze ... Silent and Unhappy, just get a room you two!
=P

Seriously, let's try to focus on the reason why we're here: F:NV isn't working.

All of these personal exchanges just make those in power at Beth and Obsidian pass over these threads. That svcks because some of us have serious things to say about this game and our experiences.
I'm not saying that you don't. Not at all. I'm just saying that you might be letting your irritation get the better of you and barking at eachother isn't helping.

Besides, we don't want that moderator with the creepy bear pic coming in there and locking up this thread!

Lol I actually got a pm from him, but I have tried to focus on getting F:NV fixed. They just wanna keep clogging up threads with their whining. Anywho, I'm just going to ignore any other posts from those two, if they wanna continue to argue they can just pm me... lol

A small one at that. That hasn't seemed to remedy very many issues.

19 MB is a small fix and the 200+ fixes were minor quest scripting errors I believe. lol

Are they? I'm not asking for much, but some sort of notion that they are actually here looking at the topics that we've posted on the bugs in the game and are at least working on something to remedy the issues. It's starting to feel like our words are falling on deaf ears.

Yes, they are.
We want everyone to know that we are monitoring the forums and cataloging every single issue we see reported. We’re reading forum posts, we’re checking Twitter, and we’re reading Facebook comments. We aren’t able to reply to most threads, but we’re listening. If we see an issue, we have people here trying to reproduce it so we can fix it.
