Can I...?

Can I use an Xbox 360 controller to play Morrowind off of my PC? I haven't played my favorite game in a couple years, and am about to purchase a new comp, figured there'd be nothing better than trying out all of the new mods and reliving good memories, but with the comfort of laying back and using a familiar device to do so. If this is possible, how would I go about doing so? I apologize if I'm in the wrong forum section. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there was a thread about how to do this somewhere...

edit: got it, check out the vista/windows 7 problems sticky thread in the hardware and software issues forum.

You can but some of the buttons don't interface properly and I believe the x axis on the joysticks do not work. I'm pretty sure there's a program for this though called switchblade.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page in the link below, and it may have what you're looking for. It explains how to use a program called Xpadder and has a download link for it there:

Oh, and if you're interested in modding your game to the max....follow the directions in Knots tutorial to the letter..you won't regret it.
I don't use a controller, but I remembered the instructions being there.
I highly recommend Knots tutorial. It's like a whole different game. It's basically a graphics overhaul but also includes important patches...(but no gameplay changing mods)...Be prepared to spend at least 3-4 hours setting it up, but it really is worth it. It includes how to use Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE)....wow!
If you are getting a new computer, you should be able to use it, and all the mods listed in the tutorial with absolutely no problem, as my set up is not exactly new and it runs like greased lightning.

But if all you're interested in is adding your controller, it's at the bottom.
I know this isn't the MW mods forum but I drifted for your potential benefit there Dark Sage.
