is it your first play? then take the assassin. it's as easy to play as a well armored orc (would not choose the nord) and you get rich quite soon.

if it's not your first play... i played these characters recently (and still play them while switching between the chars every couple of days): a khajiit concubine with a handy dagger, some illusion and speechcraft, an evil nord shaman - some kind of destruction casting frysehag, a medium armored orc shield maiden, a breton runaway slave.

i also had some classical chars with mod-races like an unseen-assassin.

hope this will help your inspiration.

erm... do you mean stealth? stealth is not so special as it is in oblivion, you need mods to make it more immersive. i did not really play oblivion, so i cannot answer this completely.

Ehh, if you want to play as a stealthy character, no it's not quite as good as Oblivion mostly because it's very difficult to increase your sneak skill. If you can get over that issue and don't mind paying a trainer though then it is very fun. Also, like Sister said there are a ton of mods that greatly improve the stealth aspect of Morrowind, plus there is the thieves guild which definitely helps to improve your stealth character.
