Will crysis 3 have environmental physics?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:11 pm

Sorry if this is a dumb/easy question, but after the disappointment I had with crysis 2, I stopped paying attention to all gaming news regarding crysis. Now I just found that there will be a crysis 3.

Can anyone provide some information on what kind of interactivity we'll be able to have with the environment? Little things like having bushes pushed out of the way when I moved through them, and seeing trees fall from grenades during firefights is why I still play the original. Will this be expanded upon in crysis 3?

No one knows? Or maybe crytek hasn't shown anything regarding physics. Trailer shows none at all iirc.

Yes, and I believe they want tufts of grass to be more physicalised now, too.

... Alls I can tell you is Crysis 3 has the best looking grass we've done, period :)

and some random stuff I cant confirm

"Taking a cue from the Battlefield series, Crysis 3 will feature a high level of environmental destruction. Shootouts will lead to untold levels of devastation, adding a whole new layer of strategy to the combat as you won’t be able to hide safely in one spot too long since at any moment it could be reduced to rubble atop you."

keep in mind that the golden build will always be a consolebuild!! This build will then be ported to the pc and updated! The core leveldesign is that of the current consoles! Dont expect to much on the physics part here! All consoleport for pc has weak physics.

There is no "port"!!!
Learn how to use the Devkit and what the Cryengine 3 is all about or be quiet about things you dont understand.

And it has been stated the the physical destruction will only be slightly increased to Crysis 2.
So dont expect anything near Batllefield 3 or Bad Company 2.

Seriously? In every single post I have seen from you, you declare how much the consoles svck, how much Crysis 2 svcks, or how much Crysis 3 will svck. Honestly, you're just making yourself look like a fool. Stop that for your own sake. And check the facts before making statements, like "Crysis 3 on PC will be a port from the consoles."

On topic, the game will OFC have enviromental destruction on some level, but I personally don't know what to expect.

Ok, this is good news for me. Hopefully there will be more of it here than the original two.

If I can drive a tank but still NOT be able to plow through a light pulls than I'll be passing on C3.

I simply refuse to cast a yes vote by buying a sequal to a game that set such a high standard and moved on to a more limited approach. I can play other games that are limited and not feel so dissapointed.

On a lighter note, damn it would be sweet if they added in way more physics. No reason to not have the options for PC at least, I love the immersiveness it creates when you can really have an impact and see/experience the effects of your actions.
