Should I get it since...

Post » Tue Dec 15, 2009 11:41 pm

So I was wondering if Morrowind is worth getting since I have all the main quest spoiled and some of the side quests. Let me explain. So ive always been a console player and, because of this, thought I would never be getting MW. So I watched all kinds of LPs about it.
But now I will be getting a PC in the next couple of months so....
Is it still worth getting?
Thanks in advance.

I would think so. Watching something played and playing it yourself are two different things entirely. Plus, there are mods on the PC, which are nice to have.

It's worth it. Half the people on this forum have played the whole game multiple times so knowing what happens is not a problem. The important thing is just playing it and then playing it again in a different way.

The original Xbox game dose work on the 360, with an update from microsoft and/or Xbox Live.

And yes, it's worth it! Especially since you can do so much more than just the quests.

If you're getting a PC with any kind of halfway decent memory, get Morrowind., Because while you know the main quests, you won't know all the quests and changes you can implement through mods. Adding mods to Morrowind can add over 100 hours of additional gameplay, and no, that isn't an exaggeration. I've been playing it off and on since it came out, and the sheer breadth and depth of modding that is still in progress for Morrowind is quite staggering. I suggest you take a look in the various mod categories at http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.List and at http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/advancedsearch.php (be sure you switch the latter to Morrowind; it defaults to Oblivion) to see what's around.

There's no Morrowind for PS. Only PC and XBOX.

A Let's play only shows one path in the game. There are thousands of different outcomes and choices you can make. Besides, there is nothing like the feel of Morrowind. It's completely different to play it than to watch it. Also, on the PC there is a massive collection of mods that add quests and other things that will keep you occupied for many hours.

OK I'll be getting it. Everyone says not to mod on first play-through but would http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r6hilB6Dlc be OK?

I think most people mean no gameplay changes; graphics enhancers are OK in my book.

I'd get it just to read the books. The backgrounders make the story.

I loved it thoroughly - and with vigor - especially in regard to those girls in gold and the enchanted items I made out of them. Oblivion is good, but not better than MW, IMHO. That said, I find the graqe saints even more tasty than their honey glazed cousins. They're all nuts, but ya gotta love'em.

I can't wait for Skyrim. I hope it will include some tree climbing for the kitties.

You won't regret it. Just don't get discouraged at the beginning, it gets easier. :)

To be honest, I think 100 hours is a severe underestimation.
