Cannot Pray

Post » Wed Dec 16, 2009 2:44 pm

Hello Oblivion forums. I'm having a bit of an issue. I cannot pray at the Stendarr alter in Chorrol. I can pray at all of the other altars, but for some reason, the Stendarr chapel tells me that "I've already received my blessing for the day." Waited 24 hours, tried again, didn't work.

Does anyone know why this might happen?

Hmmm, that is odd. Seems like something did not re-set on the timer for that blessing/action. If you waited 24 hours and tried another chapel, does that work?

Isn't there something, that you must be waiting outside the cell?

Well, the thing is, I hadn't prayed anywhere in at least 1 Oblivion week. I waited 24 hours, tried Stendarr, got the denial message. Waited 24 hours, tried the one in Bruma, worked fine. Waited 24 hours, went back to Stendarr, gave me the same message.

It's not a huge deal, because it's not like i NEED to pray at the Stendarr altar. I'm just hoping it won't screw up the Knights Of The Nine stuff.

Such a glitch has extended to the Talos chapel in Bruma. This is really weird. Went to Cheydinhal, prayed at the chapel there, worked fine. Went back to Talos, waited 24 hours, did not work.

Again, it's not a huge deal, but if it spreads to all the chapels, I'll have no where to pray but at the Deepscorn Hollow area. And I would have to be bad.

IIRC the check that's made is on the day of the week, so if you go back to a chapel exactly a week later, it's the same as returning within the day. But you waited only 48 hours (with a trip to another chapel but I don't think that affects it) so it's not that issue.

I'd expect this to be tracked with a global variable. If you type SV in the console without any object selected I think you get to see the globals, so you might try that. (Scratch this idea: I checked the wiki and there's no such global, but there must be a quest variable tracking it somewhere)

Do you have KotN installed/downloaded?

Yes, I do have KotN installed. I've only accidentally touched a few of the pilgrimage shrines around Cyrodiil, so I don't know if that's the issue.
