Green Tours - Tours of the Big Apple

Although worn, weathered, and covered in grime, this sign still stands proudly after over two hundred and eleven years. The sign sits above the entrance to the offices of a small bus depot in downtown New York, where our story began. When the bombs hit they rocked the city, pulverizing everything in their path and raining nuclear dust for miles. Luckily, one man had become wary of the upcoming apocalypse and sunk a small fortune into constructing his own underground bomb shelter, burrowing underneath several city blocks. With large stores of food and water, a miniature hospital, and even a recreation and fitness room, Shamus O'Reilly invited friends and whomever he wished to join him to outlast the nuclear apocalypse. For years they lived happily, romances blossomed, kids were born, just like any small community they functioned. The day the geiger counter near the entrance of the shelter displayed safe radiation levels, the group emerged in bright orange suits each equipped with their own geiger counters and rad-x dispensers. They scavenged the bus depot, they scavenged the streets, they dismantled vehicles, and searched every nook and cranny of the surrounding area until they were left with a 50.2 foot long double decker bus capable of driving the population of an entire community from one end of the barren wastelands of the United States of America to the other. And drive they did.

The adventure you will be embarking on begins at Big Red's latest pit stop in a small settlement not far from Kansas City. You may be a descendant of the original people who entered Shamus's shelter, a traveller picked up anywhere along the way, or, a few of you can be from the settlement the bus is now at, or can be picked up on the way to, or just after reaching Kansas City.

Information to know:

In order to participate in this roleplay properly there are a few bits of information you have to know.
By some luck or genius, the decendants of the original people who descended into the shelter managed to get the bus to work. Don't ask how, and don't dispute that it's possible. For the sake of the roleplay lets just say for these certain people, in this certain situation, it was highly possible.
Being the only bus in the wasteland, and the only non-enclave vehicle in the wasteland, it is highly sought after and stops aren't very frequent or for long amounts of time. Enclave have mainly missed the bus for the most part, but recently took notice of Big Red. Raiders across the nation repeatedly make futile efforts to hijack, or damage the bus. The Brotherhood of Steel simply watches with curiousity whenever the vehicle passes, protecting it's residents the same as any other wastelender, and when possible inquires how they were able to make it move. Occasionally private parties and mercenaries will take a shot at taking the bus for their own.

Basically, Big Red is a Double decker bus, 50.2 feet long, covered in red paint and reinforced to withstand the constant attacks it suffers. Capable of seating over a hundred people in it's tour days, it now holds much less as it is a house on wheels, with the inhabitants sleeping in makeshift bunks designed to take up as little space as possible, and supplies and weapon caches in many places throughout the bus.

Rules:

Basic rules, same as any other roleplay. Just be sensible and send a decent character sheet. The more detail the better.

Any format for the character sheets is good, but here's a layout for those who are lazy.

Name:
Preffered Name: (Nicknames, alias's, whatever)
Age:
Gender:

Clothing/Apparel:
Weapons: (nothing over the top)
Items:

Personality:
Addictions: (Just put N/A if it doesn't apply to your character)
Appearance:
Biography:

I will be controlling certain characters, such as the rather plump and joyous Aengus O'Reilly who will be driving the bus, and whoever else i need to keep the story going.

The year is about 2290.

NPC's:

Aengus O'Reilly, 54 - Only about 5'8, Aengus makes up in size what he lacks in height. A protruding gut the product of years of classic irish-american homecooking, a little too much butter on his baked potato, and fattening beer. Consequentially he suffers from high blood pressure and gets out of breath easily, a bad combination for someone with such a short temper. Despite his temper he's also a very friendly man and unless someone purposely does harm to him, his family, his friends, or his bus, he can get along with nearly anyone. His most apparent features are dark brown eyes, dark reddish brown hair, and arms that are proportionate to his stomach.
Wears a white button up shirt underneath a navy blue sports jacket with grey dress pants. Although his main duty is to drive, he keeps a .32 pistol in his jacket and a sawed off shotgun on the dashboard for whenever something is stupid enough to stand in front of the bus.

Kwame Rutendo, 40 - At 6'4, Kwame is dark as coal and possesses an extremely toned build, two things which make him rather intimidating, and stick out like a sore thumb. Has taken up the role of bus security, wearing a large kevlar vest over a black muscle shirt with baggy grey sweatpants and white basketball shoes. Carries a retractable metal baton and an old AKS-74.

No one post until i do, i need to establish everything and get things going.
