Calling all Dinosaurs - Fallout 1 Questions

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 6:56 am

So, I installed Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics yesterday. I started to play Fallout and wow, it took me a while to get used to the controls. LOL
I'm at Shady Sands right now and met Aradesh and Tandi!!!!!! I feel like I'm taking a trip through history, see how it all started, I love it!

Ok, since I don't see any key mappings, well it's all played with the mouse lol I was wondering about the following:

**How do I repair in the original Fallout?

**Can I sleep in a bed? If so how?

**When I trade, I have to put the caps into the trade window from the other guy? I think I just gave away some rad scrop tails. -.- LOL

If I come across more game play questions, I'll post them here.

Thanks everyone!!!!!

1. To repair, press S and select repair. But you don't have to repair your guns or weponry in general.
2. You cannot sleep in a bed like in the newer FOs, but renting a room in a hotel will give you a bed. Otherwise you can just wait near beds and "sleep".
3. I'm not sure now, but I remember that when selling, caps were automaticly placed in the trading window. But when buying you must place the caps/items yourself.

No nothing ever gets automatically placed. The numbers at the bottom only show the value of what is on the table. If you want to get that value in caps you have to take them out of other person's inventory.

Oh ok, so I don't have to worry about gun condition I guess?
How do I wait? LOL Hit T? So far, I really didn't have to use my keyboard for anything. Haven't found a hotel yet, but like I said, I'm only just starting out. Shady Sands is the first town I came to. :)

Yea, I thought so. I guess you live and learn. Next time, I'll make sure to take the caps! LOL

Thanks you two!

Open your Pip-Boy, there's a button with a bell picture, it opens waiting options(wait for 5min, 1h and so on).

Speaking of Fallout 1. Is there a button I press that reloads? I press "N" to switch from "shoot - aim shot- reload" but do I HAVE to left click on my gun to reload? Everything Else I kinda know how to do. (except how to make Ian not shoot me)

I also accidentally "gave away" some items the first time i visited a shop lol.

Tactics auto places BoS scripts.

But, not FO1 and 2.

I just press the big button in the center, in the bottom display, the one you use to shoot and stuff. At first I went into my inventory and pulled the bullets over to the gun. I was like huh? LOL

Yea, I was like nooooooo when I gave away stuff and I have only 4 caps to my name! LOL

Oh, somehow I didn't see that button. Cool thanks, will check it out.

Pressing the big button in the bottom of the screen is the way I reload but I always found that tedious. Same when using a stimpack. Don't have quick pockets perk so using the 2 ap for a stim is better than using the 3 ap to look into my inventory if I only need to use one.

Oh well. How are you liking the game Agro?

I did that too, and I don't think I realized it until I got to the very end.

Just steal stuff. Unless you're goody goody.

Either way, you will be rich. But regardless, don't sight see for too long. Clock ticking on that water chip.. tick tock tick tock.

Fallout you have to put in the caps by clicking until it gets to the amount you want.

Fallout 2 you can type in the amount you want

Fallout Tactics automatically does it.
