Starting Over

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2009 11:33 pm

So with no news on the release of a patch and worse still the possibilty that the patch will not fix corrupted save files, i've decided i'm going to start over and put those 13 hours of playtime as a learning experience, so before i do i wanted to know whether i need to save the game on a separate storage device as i don't want my new game saves to suffer the same fate as my previous ones, i also wanted to know if anyone has started over after having the same problems with save file corruption and encountered the same problems again on a second playthrough.

Yup, I'm tired of waiting too. Doesn't look like the devs are jumping to fix this and my emails are being ignored. Can someone confirm that if you skip the quest completely, your saves don't become corrupt?

I completed the quest really early on, at around 5 hours gameplay, since then I have built up a healthy 21 hours gameplay, got myself to level 18, scraqed up around 8000 caps and some pretty serious equipment. I was at the final stage of the Brotherhood of Steel quest when my saves became corrupt, I had finally finished searching Vault 3, Vault 11 and Vault 22 (Which took me bloomin' ages) and then.. wammy, no Fallout for Dave. If I have to start over I will probably not play New Vegas again as I've put so much work into my current character. I really hope this gets patched without the need to start over.
