House Mods w/Safe Storage

Post » Tue Dec 22, 2009 7:07 am

ANY container (including empty containers) set to respawn is unsafe.

This is easy to check in the CS but can also be tested in-game by placing items in mod containers, travelling to another cell, and resting for three days. Unsafe containers will have respawned and eaten your items.

A suprising number of house mods (including some popular mods) have unsafe storage. So... does anyone know if there's a list of house mods with verified safe storage? If not, how about we make one? I'd like to find a second house for my current character, and it'd be nice to have a list of houses known to be safe.

I'll start: I know that all storage in http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=5805 is safe because I created it. ;-)

There isn't really much point to cataloging this, most house mods have this written in the description, readme, or official thread, no need to list them IMO.

I've never even heard of a house mod that didn't have safe storage. This makes no sense to me.

There are also mods which allow you to immediately check in game.

"is it safe?"
"Refscope"
probably, "FORMID Finder" too.

Don't forget about http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9835, it also says if a container is safe(but it does more then just that).

Why would a house mod not have safe storage? The entire point of a house is to ditch your loot! The only times I have seen unsafe storage is if there is a wastebin of some kind that is clearly named "WASTEBIN" that you can through useless junk into to get deleted.

Wow... y'all are retarded. "Trust the readme." Seriously? I've tried dozens of house mods and found a LOT w/unsafe storage. One was a Hall of Fame mod on PlanetElderScrolls. So... whatever. I'm not going to pick on mod authors by listing unsafe storage because you're too stupid to realize what's what.

Wow, absolutely no need to be so rude when people are trying to help. The majority of house mods have safe storage and list it in the readme if they don't. Which once again brings up the value of reading the readme.

"Trust the readme." Seriously?

Yes seriously! Modders do not write readmes for their health and they hardly gain anything by lying in a readme. If you will not read the readme and do not trust the readme then you are wasting your time downloading.

Just a reminder that posts like this are the sort that get members banned around here.

Not really much point making this thread.

99.9% of house modders choose non respawnable chests when they mod a house. Iamnone, insulting other members is not a cool recommended thing to do. I have tried alot of house mods and in the home's bedroom there has always had non reaspawnable chests.

Meek Peseron is right no need to be rude.

Too true. I'd ban him for that. Well, maybe a warning first, but one warning is more then enough.
I'm really not cut out for being a Mod, I'm guessing that I'd ban twenty people on my first day.
But then again, is this such a bad thing?

There are like 1400 house mods on just TESNexus alone, I don't think this is the kind of thing you can just make a list for. I personally have never seen a single one that did not have some safe storage. If you do happen to run in to one, it is extremely easy to add safe storage yourself with the CS.

Ooookay.

When I put a moderator comment in a thread, I do not expect people to jump on that person and start kicking them.

I am extremely disappointed in you all.
