Am I reading this correctly? I never got to play the originals because I didn't have a PC to play them on at the time, so if it;s true, I am So getting this. But are they recoding it for newer pc's or is it going to come with that POS Dosbox that won;t work on Vista?

gog.com swear their games are all vista comaptible.

And they are, too. I've purchased all three games from GOG, and they work just fine on my Vista PC.

Of course, you'll want to save often, since there are still crashes and bugs (and not from using Vista, as they seem to exist on different OSs). <_<;;

However, it's still worth it, since the game's are pretty cheap.

Yes, I have the GOG versions too, and they work perfectly on my Vista system. Especially with the hi-rez patches for all 3 games. The only thing I have not been able to get working is the "missing content" for Fallout 2. It crashes my computer every time I try to run F2 with it installed..

Unless the games come already patched, but if not...Patch your games boiz! Official patches should still exsist out there. Including the children patch if you need it. Not sure if it was just EU versions that had kids removed.

IIRC I emailed GOG and I think there is some mild DRM of some kind... nothing terrible, but I don't think you can use any F2 mods with it.

(Someone [please] speak up if I'm wrong, because I considered buying it myself as replacement.)

I haven't noticed any DRM issues with Fallout 2 from GOG. In fact, no-DRM is one of GOG's mantras, so it'd be surprising if it had any. <.<

I do know, however, that Fallout 1 requires starting twice. First start will give an error popup, then starting it a second time works fine. No idea why it does this, but even on the forums there, it's "just what it does". o_O;;
