New Characters

Hi all. Lately I've been playing a lot of Oblivion, as I've not had a PC of my own, but in a couple of days that's going to change. So the process of building a character or two has begun. I'd like some feedback on whether or not they're alright classes though, as it's been AGES since I last did this.

Anyway, on to the matter at hand.

First character:
Aralin Hlerayn
Dunmer
Female

The Apprentice
Custom Mage class: All magic skills, except unarmoured, replacing it with sneak and including short blade.

She's going to be a member of Great House Telvanni. She has a background, but I won't bore you with it (unless someone's interested) as I'm rp'ing her.

Second character:
Azrael Hlerayn
Dunmer
Male

Not sure on birthsign.
Neither am I sure on class. He's going to be the Nerevarine (I think, it'll either be him or Aralin). Perhaps a Spellsword or a Nightblade? Has anyone got any ideas for what skills to pick? (I'm so used to only picking 7 skills, I get a bit overwhelmed coming back to Morrowind.

And if anyone has any suggestions for mods (I'll be using GCD as a definite), I'd be appreciative, but that's not the point of this thread.

Personally I would go for The Atronach with this character since you are already thinking of including theif skills. The Apprentice is easier in the beginning becasue you get the big magicka pool bonus and not too many enemies use magic against you, but later in the game I suspect you will regret the 50% weakness to magic penalty. If Aralin had sneak, security, light armour, block and short blade in her major/minor selkections she could walk a tight line with the law for the first part of the game and thereby finance much training in the magic arts, including alchemy to make those all important restore magicka potions. Later in the game as an Atronach she will be able to use the 50% spell absorbtion (probably enhanced with some constant effect trinkets) to blast high level spell casting enemies to kingdom come in a torrent of deadly magic they won't have dreamt of in their worst nightmares while their pathetic attempts to counter it simply top up her magicka pool for her.

Be sure to have one armor skill as your minor skills. It will give you quick levelups since lower level skills advance faster.

I would also take Atronach. It is much more powerful in Morrowind than in Oblivion because in Morrowind there is no magicka regeneration unless you`re resting. You mainly get your magicka from drinking potions and 50 extra magicka + 50 absorbtion is not so bad. Even my altmer mage has got that sign.

As for the Nerevarine... as main skills take Blunt weapon (Sunder. Don`t know what it is? I won`t spoil more than saying that it`s a blunt weapon), Short blade(Keening. See Sunder), Long blade (If you have Tribunal expansion), unarmored, heavy armor (there`s also a quest related heavy armor piece you`ll want to wear if you truly are to play the role of the Nerevarine). Be sure to also take security. Not very heroic, I know, but you need something to get open the countless locked chests you run into in dungeons. You may also take sneak but don`t know if it associates with anything the Nerevarine is going to be doing.

As minor skills... whatever you want. Mercantile, athletics, enchanting (affects enchanted weapons btw), acrobatics, speechcraft...
