Are there areas untouched by the Nucular Fallout?

I mean....i doubt every country in the world was completely destroyed. I'm sure there are island nations untouched by the war.

It would be neat in a future fallout game to come across this large landing force from another country searching the waste for survivors and resources, also seeing what the heck happened.

There's 4 pages of discussion here:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1029403-wouldnt-there-be-places-in-the-world-that-are-untouched-by-nuclear-warfare/page__st__60__p__15960426__hl__untouched%20by%20war__fromsearch__1&#entry15960426

The general consensus is more or less no. We're not just looking at a war here, we're looking at the fall of international trade and civil order (No Food imports, No Mediciens, no factory produced doodads, no fertilisers or pestacides).

Are there areas where the bombs didn't fall? Sure. Are there areas where life goes on as before? Only in things like those lost tribes living in the Amazon that have absolutely no contact with the outside world.

such a force has had 200 odd years to rediscover North America, and seemingly hasn't.

Watch old movies featuring the Fourties and Fifties vision of Nuclear War. They believed it *must* be another world war and that means everyone of any global importance gets a taste. Sadly the concept of nuclear winter and post war radiation sickness were downplayed. The good news is they *knew* there would be habital land and mutants once we came out of our bunkers! The more modern post war movies, or should we say 'documentaries', would make for a really boring and grim settings for the cinema.

So we pretty much can conclude, especially after 200 years of no contact with the rest of the world that the First and Second Worlds bought it. Good news is they may not be slag and therefore good candidates for european and asian locals in sequels! (Wink wink, nudge nudge)
