Guns you wish were in the game.

Definitely a crossbow, with envenomed or incendiary arrows available as ammo. Or something outrageous like a nail gun, a blow gun or even something that shoots sawblades like that contraption in Resistance 2. A grappling hook gun, akin to those wielded by comic-book vigilantes, that allows you to climb steep surfaces and can also do some damage would be useful as well, especially to Operatives and light units in general.

Since there's going to be 24 guns and I don't know what most of them are I can't say. As for people who want real weapons, I think every shooting game ever always gets a mod to add those. Each weapon also has 8 statistics where some are linked to each other as obvious trade-offs. The one I don't understand is range. Range that it still has that amount of accuracy? Or actual range of the projectile? STALKER unmodded is a game that comes to mind where weapon "range" was done wrong. Take a couple steps forward and suddenly your pistol can hit them now.

Along with all the possible mods on those 24 guns different balances will be represented. It will take time and trials to really find out if there is a missing category or under represented combination. I'm going to favor the assault rifles since I'm not sure how the low damage of SMGs will do in a game like this. Otherwise I'll take any mod that increases SMG damage or AR rate of fire.

1.Say that to US spec Ops members, people still use crossbows because they are silent, deadly, and can be loaded with better explosives than bullets due to their size and low heat during fire; and they are hella fun to use if youve ever shot one. B)

2. Range is how far the bullet will go before it stops doing damage, this could be an abrupt stop like
10m-20m = 20 damage then 30-40m = 10 damage
or it could be an equation where the damage is slowly lower over distance until it simply does not produce any damage.
1m=20, 2m=18, 3m=16, etc. until 11m = 0
Accuracy on the other hand has nothing to do with how far a bullet will go but how straight it will fire out of your gun.
To break it down range is distance and accuracy is aim.

I am hoping that range is a gradient for damage. Weapons with high range will not drop in damage as quickly over distance. I know that accuracy would probably refer to a cone of fire from the crosshair. Since Brink has no open sniping maps I would have thought range and bullet drop wouldn't be a factor.

If molotovs make it back it would be a waste of resources not to have some sort of flame thrower
imo

think of it as a chain gun with a DOT, and shorter range

lol, crossbows, 20 sec reload w/crank, 50m range, I'll take a suppressed smg any day, just as silent, far deadlier. Afaik, the US military dropped crossbows in the '80s, in favour of suppressed MP5. I believe the Turkish Military still train with them for coastal sentry removal, but all in all a fairly useless combat weapon on the Ark. As far as fun goes though, try a Remington 597 w/30 round mag, I just picked up a VTR and after 2 days and 1800 rounds, it's a fun gun.

btw, I've fired nearly everything in NATO and Warsaw Pact hand-held inventory

You're running down an alley. From out of a side alley, a crossbow bolt comes and hits you in the side. You know what side it hit you from, but no idea what angle. No muzzle flare and a sound that is cancelled out by the ongoing battles around you means the only chance of you hearing him is if he tries to load another bolt, which is negated if he has a semi-auto crossbow.

Also, semi auto crossbows are real. They were the first crossbows invented, and were invented by the Ancient Chinese.
