multiple disc game

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 10:45 pm

I would be more then willing to pay more for more with a multi-disc game, in fact I would have to say I would love to pay out those extra dollars for more game with multi-discs.

I always thought putting voice files on another disc would free up so much room for other content. I doubt they would ever do that though.

I doubt they'd charge more. Forza 3 had two discs and it was the regular $60.

If only Microsoft wouldn't have joined the hddvd band wagon

If they did put it on two discs I doubt it would cost more. Mass Effect 2 was two disc and it was only $60. I just wish the second disc would be install instead of having to swap discs. I feel that would get very annoying in a sandbox game like Elder Scrolls.

:P Having the disk is part of it for me, I'd hate to not have a hard copy, Its like buying an Ebook. Yeah, i could buy the Ebook, but i'd much rather buy the real book and have a solid copy in my hands.

As long as I never need to switch disks while playing, then fine. I hated how in ME2 I had to switch every half an hour. That would break all immersion in a TES game. But no, I would not pay more. Why would anyone pay for an inconvenience?

Discs are cheap (pennies, if you buy in bulk, wholesale). Why would you think you have to pay more if the game is multi-disc?

I doubt we'd pay more, but I would be more than willing to pay more for multiple discs. Companies (not just Bethesda) really need to learn that it's more than feasible for consoles to use multiple discs, by installing information to the hard drive. I don't know of any game (and if there are any, they're few) that actually takes advantage of installing to the hard drive on consoles. The fear of doing so really bugs me. They're letting us PC gamers down, here. :(

I will pay anything to get Skyrim. I don't care if it has two discs, Mass Effect 2 was fine with two discs, you only have to change them once.

PS3 = Blu-ray format

Xbox 360 = 1/2 of consoles TES V will be released for

I hate when people think one console represents the entire group.

Not every 360 has a hard drive.

Not every 360 has a hard drive.

Who says you need to use the extra discs? If you WANT the voices, get a hard drive. If you don't have a hard drive, play without the voices, ala Morrowind. I really don't see the problem, many games implement features that require the hard drive. (Halo 3's Forge, for example)

I hate when people think one console represents the entire group.

Good for you.

If you bought The Shivering Isles for the xbox you installed it onto the hard drive
So Bethesda does know about it...

Cant stack the multiple disks together like in super smash bros brawl. If so I would like it if they went towards that route, so you have more content and you dont need to constantly switch disks.

You guys are missing the point, some of you anyway, I am talking like a world game like Daggerfall was the whole or almost the whole of Tamriel to play from on multi-discs.

I have a 250gb hdd on my Xbox. If It were to go multiple discs I better be able to just install them all and play from an extra disc for install play. If the game was split b/t 3 discs the 4th should have the copy write check for the other 3 so I would never have to switch when I install it.

Lost Odyssey had 3 or 4...and it was the normal price.

So no, I wouldn't pay more for it. But I wouldn't expect to, either.
