[Wip] Ascadian Isle Overhaul

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:30 pm

These screen shots continue to awe me... do those trees really look as good with distant land as they appear to?

They look just as good as they do in the screenshots =-)

These new meshes are absolutely astounding! I don't think Morrowind ever looked so good!

As to the Ashland rocks, I think they are very cool, I mean Morrowind is a fantasy land right? I don't see why they need an earthly explanation.

Keep up the good work! :goodjob:

Thank u!

Those are quite impressive indeed, and while the Ashland rocks aren't necessarily realistic, and do look a little organic, I have to say they're still pretty nice, they give the game a much more alien feel, I'm especially intrigued by what you're doing with the Ashlands, though the Ascadian Isles look very good too. Though, it does somewhat concern me that this mod might conflict with mods that add things or make changes to the world, I don't want to have to choose between this or lots of other mods that I don't want to sacrifice, so I wonder, just how likely is it that it would have problematic conflicts? I'm especially concerned about Vivec, does it alter the interiors of Vivec's cantons or just the outside? Or does it make them open?

It makes them open. It alters the inside of the canton, like the hallways and such, but not the individual rooms and shops.

Thanks for the bumps, I had no idea this even existed. Nice work, as usual. Should be interesting seeing your final take on Vivec.

Looks nice!

Suggestions: use the default material (copy from an original tree in Nifskope) for the meshes and you'll get rid of the horrible color pop-ups (leaves/bark has a much brighter texture in the distance). I think you'll only need to change once instance of the material and the others will "follow".

Use more varied colors in the leaves! Right now they look like a green blur without any definition at all, doesnt look very natural. Other than that i love it!! The leaves does look really good close up, and the billboards doesnt look strange even with MGE :) Great work!

I actually never one thought that changing the material would help lol I ust assumed MGE rendered this way, I will try this though thank you.

Very nice work on the trees, I'm looking forward to the full release.

I'm very much interested in the ground textures you have for the Ascadian Isles region in this video. I really like how it changes the whole atmosphere of the region in a "Mediterranean" way (along with your beautiful olive tree-like flora).

Is that ground texture your own? Will it be made available in this mod? Is it available somewhere right now? :)
