for those wondering what second invasion is: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=975653&hl= use [story] to go straight to whats happening...

summary of after the gates closed: [sum]

After Alissor of Alimor assassinated the elder council, The empire begged the Dunmer to come in and help as more provinces turned their backs to the empire in their time of trouble... Ashina's forces made demands that in normal circumstances would be turned down but in fear and hope they were approved as few realized what was truly going on... When Ashina drove the Altmer back to Summerset though, those nobles who had agreed to the terms had been driven out of town when the commoners had found out what they had agreed to... After the oblivion gates were shut though, most who had helped shut them agreed to become part of the council and they tried to find compromise to Ashina's demands to little effect...

In the attempt to close the gate, the knights had been caught off guard and were taken prisoner, those who didn't fight anyways? soon afterwards, they had an attempt to escape and easily did but in the process, a few had to left behind so that they could close the gate, in the end only 4 survived the catastrophe? Many others had helped in the battle and a few had actually made it into the gate helping the knights close it though most weren't seen for a long time afterwards.

It has been 13 long years since the oblivion gates have been closed and the Empire is in shambles, the Minotaur rebellions (to show the humans that they were capable and intelligent creatures) was stopped by the orcs who could deal with their sheer strength and numbers but would not stop when the minotaur surrendered, fleeing to their caves and instead drove them to extinction, or so records say though the ocasional traveler says they see one on the road... Unfortunately the damage done to the Kvatch site where they planned to rebuild the once great city has been halted with the economy in a crisis from the 5 year rebellion.

Skingrad has since been put under quarantine as the ranks of vampires increased to a point of no return. The gates are barricaded and archers are positioned around the city in case they may build ladders to climb the walls with blood being so close by, Janus Hasseldor himself ordered the quarantine as he admitted to being part of the cause as he had attracted the vampires by finding a long forgotten artifact said to allow vampires to go into the light for a short time without being hurt by forming a shroud of darkness around them...

Trolls have since become more savage then ever as they have evolved to learn how to walk and sharpen their claws on stones...

Lorn ended up killing himself while destroying Gratch, who had since become arch mage of the mages guild and was running experiments on humans making them into horrible killing machines that he then released into the wild. unfortunately with his death, the Grognark was released from its telepathic control and went on a rampage before being sealed under the Jeral mountains with the leftover deadra from the invasions...

Cheydinhal is still home to the brotherhood but has long since become a home to the undead as zombies and skeletons walk the streets, it is now revered by most and experimented on by what is left of the necromancers who have still found no way to control them as if they were summoned?

a new race was soon found underground by one of the mining companies. They apparently knew their language easily. They were at first assumed to be underground goblins because they resembled them but were soon proven to be more like orcs that were half the size rather then goblins, they were different though as their society was cannibalistic and highly skilled in alchemy and healing and called themselves the lurgins?

now the story: [story]

After Gratch's death, a strange mage known as Willy took over, he was nothing short of worse then Gratch, because of his sheer magical abilities makign him a dictator of the mages guild. Whenever someone within tried to be relieved of their status in the mages guild though they would go missing and soon rumors were being spread that they were offerings to try and bring back Mannimarco and as such Willy got the nickname Willy the Worm which after discovering this, he held the name in high regard as he found it catchy... Soon after Willy took over though there was an increase in zombie activity and he was starting to be interrogated to find out if he was part of what was going on in Cheydinhal but having no proof they soon left him alone as he simply smiled and laughed at them for even accusing him.

Soon afterwards he was arrested as they found underground, hundreds of mages who were groaning in pain in the sewers with horrible disfigurations and wings growing out of their backs, some had no eyes and others couldn't speak and made strange hissing noises as they tried to, only one of the guards who had gone down to check the noises returned, the rest had been killed...

When he heard charges were being made against him though he had managed to convince the council that the gaurd was clearly under some kind of charm and that his men had gone down there and found nothing but gaurds dead from drinking too much wine and ale.

Soon afterwards though, He completed his grand creation, the Golem... it seemed too much like the centurion at first, but instead it was cast from steel and was designed so that mages could sit in its eye sockets and shoot out spells, as soon as the council heard of the creation of this being that few swords could even scratch through as it smashed its giant hands into the ground, they sent a message to the guild saying that the monstrosity must be destroyed at once...

As Willy found this information out though he took position in the controls of the golem which were formed so that the user through a simple illusion spell would be able to control the golem and set off destroying a section of the imperial city wall as he screamed a strange chant that was later written down as:

"Every one cowers in fear,
the screams and wails are near,
hide those who are dear,
thy hour draws near,
the deaths of many bring cheer,
Willy the Worm is here!"

as he finished destroying the wall he made a run with his closest comrades towards the Niben bay with the Golem and wasn't heard from for years as the council searched for him now having proof that he was insane and the creatures who had been trapped in the sewers had killed hundreds before being destroyed... Soon he was thought to be dead though a handful of mages disagreed and the mages guild was shut down until further notice in an attempt to help those who had been tortured secretly by the mad arch mage.

Recently, the city of Bravil was engulfed in a large black sphere that soon took the shape of a giant black soul gem in a liquid state and no one had returned that the council had sent in... growing desperate they found someone who had been put into the prison and marked as a mad man who believed that he would be murdered and that the empire would fall to pieces trying to stop "the many minded" as he referred to him as... After many long days they had managed to find that he had been one of Willy's apprentices who had followed him into the Niben bay with the golem and was taken out of the prison to be put under guard to make sure he wasn't assassinated and kept him secret knowing that if someone was to find out they would surely hire assassins to kill him for the deaths of family members...

The council then put up notices all around what was left of Cyrodil with the Dunmer constantly attacking the now crumbling empire in the attempt to see their demands from so long ago met, in order to entice adventurous into going into the giant soul gem and wiping out the mad mage who was a threat to every civilization left standing, a few of the council members themselves had signed up.

Whether it be for the reward of 100,000 septims, half of what remained in the treasury or for the glory and honor of destroying such a threat to society, they gathered in the city to sign up to combat the menace, almost all of them would die though as no one knew what lay beyond the great liquid walls of darkness except a lone survivor who had since become irrational and violent...

(P.S.- sorry for not waiting for answers for what happens to your characters but I was getting very impatient lol)

Character sheet: (since I killed off my character I'm creating a new one, please use this basic template)
*=necessary
Name*: Lomir the Strange

Race*: Nord (with a slight bit of imperial in his blood shown through his diplomatic speaking) (you can use the midget race but they don't live to be very old and spawn like rabbits so they'll probably find almost every character of the opposite gender attractive)

Class*: non, closest resemblance is a monk

Proficiencies*:

speech craft

Hand-to-hand

Alchemy

Restoration

Illusion

Light armour

Appearance (desc. or pic or both)*: http://www.azm.org.uk/oblivion/images/johan.jpg Lomir wears a very light chain mail that provides little protection against anything bigger then an arrow or dagger but is still very useful in some situations instead of the hunter vest and a green and brown robe over it, the amulet is in the shape of a plain old circle but has dents all over it. He is also wearing boots and gloves, the gloves have the shiny effect like enchanted items in Morrowind.

Overall morality*: neutral with a hint of good in there at times and at other times evil.

Occupation: traveling priest who seeks a mutual understanding of Deadra and the gods, very open minded and some don't even consider him a priest though he still helps them. In fact most have mistaken him as a mage at times because he seems more interested in understanding them rather then worshiping them

Personality: surprisingly laid back for a Nord and very calm, unless they are talking about fighting, though he is a pacifist, he isn't your average one and used to be a soldier and still loves to talk about fighting often getting riled up and over confident.

Background info: Lomir was one of the few soldiers who survived the battle when Alissor and his men showed their true colors and attacked the soldiers and ultimately killed many of his friends. He has a hatred towards Altmer and refuses to speak with them at times though he still offers his services to them? In fact he is a traveling priest because of his hatred towards the high elves when one time one of them was making snide comments to him at a church and he ended up beating him to a pulp getting a scar from a fire spell it had cast on him on his arm? His mother was an imperial and his father was a nord so he is often frowned upon for being two races, in fact his mother was the only reason he managed to get into the legion as they refused to accept him at first, he later regretted this as his officer was an imperial with a arrogant attitude and so he has a slight aggression towards imperials though it usually isn't noticed. Actually, he is a pacifist because of what happened at the oblivion gate.

Diseases they may/may not have: he has an addiction to fighting, he can't get enough of it!

Anything else needed: his boots have a slight charm on them that lowers his reflexes but at the same time, when he takes them off he is much faster then never having them on as it saves his energy and at the same time if he kicks someone with his boots on then their reflexes will slower by a fraction of a second giving enough time for an attack. His gloves on the other hand are heavily enchanted so that they heat up when they touch something, perfect for building a fire or warming him up on a cold night or even cooking food but has little effect in combat unless over a long period of time when they'll eventually burn his opponents but at the same time his hands start to slowly freeze, damaging the tissue slowly but surely. (so basically, by the time he can actually harm someone with the intense heat, his hands will start to get jacked up and end up taking damage themselves to the extent that he can't use them for anything but slapping and crappily punching people for a while) in fact they don't work if he isn't wearing them!

As Lomir sat next to a statue, a courier came by and handed him a copy of the paper that he had left over, he wasn't interested but glanced at it noticing the reward instantly. "one? one hundred thousand septims?" he looked in his bag, all he had left were some herbs that could staunch bleeding, enough materials to make a crappy healing potion, a loaf of bread, and three septims?
