Ebony blades in Oblivion are the most blunt.
There is a fur armour in skyrim that is simply a skirt of fur. Skyrim is cold. That can't protect you from anything!
Draugr carry Ebony weapons. These are of a clear elven design. Draugr are of Pre-falmer war nords.
Skyrim's elven weapons are huge. Particularly the sword. You'd think that the elves would take advantage of the metal's lightness and use a more usable which can move faster due to the metal. Or perhaps add weight to the metal with led. Or not use the elven metal for swords. Either way it is illogical to use Excess valuable metal to make a sword fat and hard to wield.
Replacing glass with Machalite- A fragile stone. Making the elven metal Moonstone.. which is infact a stone. Using Mercury in armour. Using corrundumn... a Gem second in hardness to diamond.. as a cheap and common material that is used to make steel... that's just stupid too. It would have made more sense to make all of these up rather than use real world items. I bet bethesda were feeling very clever about this and patting themselves on the back.
Orcs, despite being the best armourers in tamriel- Make Some of the worst weapons in tamriel? Perhaps Bethesda wanted to Reduce the orcs from proud, honourable, sophisticated and martial people into mordor brutes? The weapons look to be an inferior quality and the armour has lost it's ornate designs that it had in Its morrowind iteration (and to a lesser extent oblivion). Plus why are the weapons green and the armour grey. They both use iron. Surely the high grade armour should be green?
There is a book In skyrim justifying the new lockpick system. Apparent;y the new locks are a new technology... which are used in ancient nord, falmer and dwemer chests? Furthermore would it not make more sense for People to use different types of lock so that random pricks wearing horned helmets don't know how to open them?
Adamantium is gone. Ice armour and mithril is gone too. Morrowind's royal guard armour (of a red metal, originating from skyrim) is also forgotten. Despite Dumner refugees there is no chitin armour (discounting falmer)
Ebony and dwarven metal would make awful bows. Elven is questionable.
Having every weapon in game in every metal (except silver). Even ones that wouldent work. Secondly the variety of weapons is very small.
Two handed weapons have animations which show little skill. Dual wielding animations remind the player of a dancing power ranger.
All of skyrim's perks...
Etc etc etc,
How hard would it be for some guy to research how and why everything works the way it does? If it isn't magic it should work normally right?
