Dual Wielding and Other Weapons

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:43 am

I thought it would be cool if you would implement Dual Wielding in Skyrim. I was really hoping that there would be Dual Wielding in Oblivion but there was not. I have always loved the Dual Wielding idea and Im looking forward to see if Bethesda will implement it. I also was wondering if they were gonna add Spears in this game. Ive always loved the idea of Spear and Shield. For me. these 2 things would be a huge plus.

I'd love that. I want to roleplay a hot assassin chick with 2 daggers.

Oh, I would definately like to have dual wielding. Maybe with the new engine it's possible?

I'm actually hoping for unique skills such as dual wielding for Skyrim, ones which can be found throughout the land and taught by certain characters.

It depends. I would love to use a sword and dagger or hand-axe, but fighting with two longsword would be really hard to do

If they had skills like Long Blade, Short Blade, Two Handed, Daggers, Shield etc, then yes, as a master perk of Daggers.

I wouldn't mind so long as the off hand isn't larger than the main hand.

Basically, long sword and short sword is cool and all, but you shouldn't be carrying anything more than two long swords.

That would be a nice thing to see,i rembember when i was a kid and played morrowind for the first time i wanted badly to be able to wield two daedric weapons at once.
But still even if they dont do anything about it i wont be dissapointed. :celebration:

Dual daggers, or a longsword with offhand parry dagger would be awesome.

It high on my list for what I want in a game.....centainly dual wielding dual longswords or whatever would require a high skill level and would have penalities.

I'd love dual weilding, as long as it limited to 1H Swords, Daggers, and 1H Axes, no need to pull a WoW.
Probably make it a skill, novices can only dual weild daggers, apprentice can dual weild short swords, journeyman can dual wield longswords and axes, dunno what to do for expert though, speed buff? Damage and power attacks are tied to your base weapon skill.

Sounds good, and an ability to throw something with the off hand maybe? Toss a dagger in a guys face and then slam your other dagger in his face = epic/.

If anyone has read any Drizzt books, I'm sure they'd want dual wielding. I certainly do.
And I can understand people saying "only shortswords in your off hand", but I'd like longswords too, or maybe all one-handed weapons, such as war axes. At least katanas or scimitars.
But I would still be very happy with just the 'rogue' style, long blade in one hand, shorter blade in the other.

just do what they did in the DnD games for years. you get the basic skill for dual wielding but you do less damage with your off-hand and are less precise. this makes sense since most people arent ambidextrous. as you practice the skill or get trained you off-hand gets better. sort of like how someone who loses an arm has to learn how to right with they other hand. it takes awhile but it can be done.

ive actually moved away from dual wielding since ive become more interested in realistic combat. what i do want to see back in are halberds and poleaxes and spears which would be my new choice in weaponry. they have to bring back crossbows as well.

I really don't want to see people running around with two giant axes. So I'd like Dual wielding, but the second weapon should be restricted to short blades. Another thing is, Oblivions weapons were way too big. Nobody would actually carry axes that big.

The engine had nothing to do with it. Dual-wielding was left out of Oblivion (and Morrowind) because Bethesda didn't feel like implementing it, not because they couldn't.
