O:A Armory Door glitch? WTF.

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 11:25 pm

So, I'm trying some deep breathing while I type this. Because I'm very pissed off.

I just completed the Operation Anchorage simulation and I use the terminal near the armory door and it says it's unlocked and I can proceed. But the f'ng door stays locked and nobody will open it for me.

I just downloaded this today. I really, really, really hate paying money for something that doesn't work. I already had Broken Steel and The Pitt installed. Pitt was completed, Broken Steel is not because I haven't finished the main FO 3 quests.

How can I fix this and make the door open?

I am playing on Xbox 360.

One more thing, and it's the best ever.

NOBODY seems to have a solution for this problem. I've googled and forumed and torn all my hair out. All for nothing. 10 bucks down the [censored]ter. Good [censored] times.

Sound to me like a serious glitch, I just checked the wiki and it just says to re-load an old save. I feel your pain though man :icecream:

If you are using a PC, you can solve this by using the console.

Steps:

Press ~
Click on the door
type "unlock"
Press ~
then open the door.

Did you look at the terminal RIGHT next to the armory door and click the "activate" (or w/e) button?

If you did, I have no idea on how to help you.

That particular terminal is unhackable. You can only access it after completing the simulation because the computer will then recognize you as a registered user.

If it's not working, and the OP didn't keep multiple save games, then he's pretty much out of luck.

I keep multiple saves, but I didn't want to go through with that character only to be disappointed again (that would result in a broken controller right there -- thrown right into my television followed by the FO 3 disc being snapped in half). So, yeah, "out of luck" is right. I started a new game, went (more or less) straight to the DLC and at the end everything worked fine.

Though it was more challenging at a lower level (lvl 4 vs lvl 23), and thus more rewarding, It's still DAMN annoying. I wanted that Stealth Suit for my higher level character. Oh well. I never played Evil Karma before, but I am with the new game. Take out my frustration that way.

I too feel your pain my man... nothing more annoying than a glitch that can't be fixed. BTW, that is why I gave up on console gaming long ago... Strictly PC for me. I have not run into a situation (PC Glitch) that cannot be fixed with either a patch or some other work-around in all the games I play and I am telling you I play a lot of em.

I know this does nothing for you but then again there it is!

This particular terminal needs quest DLC02OA4 >= 60 to make the door unlock and open.
Refers to Operation: Anchorage.

Not sure why it would bug out, but been known to happen.

SetStage DLC02OA4 60 ought to set you where this can be unlocked.
The result code for this stage also adds power armor training, which ya shold see once you have exited the sim, if everything has worked right.

I feel for ya if you are on a console, only shot ya have to make this work is to load an older save, if ya can.

The unlock console command works fine, no need to even go into the simulation.

Does the SetStage command treat the quest as complete?
