Do Orcs have more melee range than Bosmer?

Do Orcs have more melee range than Bosmer due to their size? It seems like they do but I can't seem to test it for a certainty in game.

I would think that they do too, but I doubt that this game penalizes the player based on race. But that would be a cool addition to think about when creating a character.

I'm trying to create a new tank and I'm torn between an Orc and a Bosmer. It seems like the Orc is able to hit opponents from further away than the Bosmer, but I'm not sure if that's just my mind playing tricks on me. I know that size/height does effect things in the game. It states in the Wiki, for example, that the taller races actually have a higher run speed multiplier than the shorter races. Altmer have the highest run speed multiplier.

Good question, and I don't know (my Bosmer will only touch a bow).

You just might be able to test it if you wanted to try. I would recommend testing using an Altmer and Bosmer (male) to maximize the difference.

Ok: Take an Altmer with a long sword and creep him up to a training target until he can just barely hit it. Open the console and change him to a male Bosmer. Exit the console. See if he can still hit the target.

Or perhaps someone really smart will pop on here with the 'no troll dung' answer. Lol.

Thanks Acadian, but I'm stuck using a PS3 so no console trickery for me.

You might be able to try the same thing by simply creating a new Altmer and trying to test the distance they can fist hit the wall in their prison cell. Note carefully where they are standing etc. Then repeat with a Bosmer.

More accurate but a little more work would be to take and Altmer up to the end of the tutorial, but don't exit. Stand at the exit with a sword in your hand and use your last chance click on the gate to turn into a Bosmer and then try?

Just a couple thoughts.
