Is this game worth getting?

Does this game have the same races as oblivion?
I hope so
Or is it just regular humans!!! (EWWW) :yuck:
I dont care if there two differnt games!
hmph

Elder Scrolls and Fallout are two different game series. They don't even take place on the same planet.

Anyway, if you're worried about pretty clothes, little kids, and mansions, then Fallout 3 ain't for you. Go back to your princess roleplay on Oblivion.

Does this game have millions of pretty outfits?
Also can you wear eyeglasses?
can you play as a little kid?
whats the story line?
do you get to become rich?
can you buy a mansion?

(all questions i ask are in order of importantnce)

1. It can, with mods.
2. Yes.
3. With mods.
4. Too lazy to explain.
5. Yes.
6. Again, mods.

This doesn't sound like the game for you though. This isn't a happy, fantasy game. This is a post-apocalyptic, survival, RPG/shooter.

In reply to the OP, judging whether something is "pretty" is largely subjective. I would say that it is possible to make a character in games such as FO 3 somewhat attractive, but even with mods, it is extremely limited as far as what I find aesthetically attractive. Then again, I am not an artist; I have great respect for Japanese artists who can create characters that I find attractive and pretty, as well as the outfits for them. OP, if you want pics, you should check the pic thread posted near the begnning of this topic. You'll have to check what people have posted yourself and see if anything seems appealing to you.

I have to say that some people seem to be under the mistaken impression that it is necessary for characters to mirror their environment is some sort of "realistic" fashion, even if the environment in question (FO 3, for example) is far from realistic.

In other words, it is quite ok to see characters dressed in cute or sixy outfits (or boring business suits, or whatever) in a post-nuclear apocalyptic environment just as it is fine to see such characters in medieval fantasy environments (for example, the characters and outfits in various fantasy games and other media are often far from realistic in any way).

This is the primary problem with Western games today. There is a common attitude amongst developers that there is some need to attempt "realism" when in fact such an effort is bound to fail because 1) reality is largely subjective to each individual and 2) being "realistic" in any way has nothing to do with enjoying entertainment of any kind.

What actually matters is to have fun, and that requires having empathy with your character and various NPCs in a story. If you cannot feel for the characters in the story due to an unappealing focus on "realism", the developers have failed with their attempt to reach you as an audience.

Same thing happens in film and other media. For example, there are a ton of unrealistic outfits, events, and characters in popular franchises such as Star Wars and Star Trek, but that doesn't matter because people find what is being offered appealing aesthetically and can thus suspend any disbelief and stretching of unrealistic presentations and principles.

A long list

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes, mods will help
4. Yes
5. Loads, even more with mods
6. Well I like it so much I plan to cos play as a vault dweller
7. Not millions, but as I have said before Mods will add loads of new content
8. Yes a few different varieties
9. No, in two of the Main Quest you do play as a kid, however Mods might be able to make you a kid
10. Its already been said a few times so I won't bother repeating someone
11. You can after a few hours of playing, but it matters what you do
12. You can get a Penthouse suite on the top floor of a hotel, you might be able to get a Mansions from a mod but I'm not sure
13. No, there are different skin tones but a mod might add different races, you can be a ghoul through mods I know that
14. There are pictures on the wiki

I highly suggest getting the game on your computer, getting mods makes loads of difference and if you don't know which mods to get you can just ask in the mod section. Also you can get the GOTY cheaper of places like Amazon and play.com

I think you've had enough "fun" for now, and the question has been more than adequately answered.
