I allowed myself to become radiated to the point that I grew a new toe. And then I went to Vault city and had it amputated. I now have the toe, but I don't know what to do with it. Has anyone ever figured this one out?

I actually became so radiated that I lost 1 str permanently for a while, I had to use 3 packets of Radaway, and my doctor skill to get the strength point back.

I am wondering if there are any positive mutations that you can get from radiation? Has anyone ever got any. I know about the Mutate Perk. I used that later in the game. But I haven't found much in the way of real mutations.

I don't think there ended up being a purpose for it... You can eat it to purpoely become irradiated (there is a time where this is actually useful). There was a rumour that you could use it on Horrigan to kill him, but the Fallout Bibles say thats not true.

The extra toe is the only "mutation" you can get in the game. And ofcourse you can kill Horrigan with the toe.

How do you kill horrigan with it. I never let myself get that radiated so i had no idea about the extra toe.

I have heard, that you can throw it on Horrigan, causing a huge amount of damage, but i have never tried it myself. When i ate it, i got poisoned.

I actually had it regrow, unless it was a glitch. Like the next time I came back to the doctor some time later, I had another toe to be amputated and there was this dialogue that said something along the lines of 'okay maybe now it will stay off'

I have 3 toes now in the trunk of my highwayman. I think the key to getting them are #1 being radiated close to 100 rems and #2 walking the wastelands. You have to pay 500 chips per toe.

I did some research and I found that Harrigan only has a few hitpoint at a certain time in the game, I am not sure when that is yet. If you use the toes on him they lower his hitpoints lower then 0, and kills him It also poisons him.

Walking on Green Goo also seems to affect it.
