The lore of duplication

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:38 am

I know people of this forum like to explain lore and that almost everything is awnsered or at least thorized so I would like so one explain the duplication (glitch) in a loreful way. I will praise the one who finds a logical explanation in my signature as long as I will be on the forum.

Once upon a time, the Godhead Dreamer ate his own tail and spun around in circles dazed. His own dreams then began to do the same thing, until all the spinning caused their dreams to have deja vu, which caused the dreams of those dreams to begin duplicating exponentially. Then Lorkhan looked upon the whole thing and giggled hysterically, whereupon he proceeded to snap his brother Akatosh's neck and everything went to hell.

The end.

Why would there be an explanation in the lore for a glitch that's not supposed to happen?

Well you can obviously tell that Its not supposed to happen seeing as how Beth has fixed earlier versions of the duplication glitch through patches.

I'm fairly sure they just didn't intend for it to be able to happen, but whatever floats your boat.

One of the Nine Talos was a very clumbsy person he was always losing his items so he decied to duplicate them. In modern cyrodil players use this so called glitch to make sure they have a numerous amount of their items

I blame it on a bad Skooma hit.

Seeing duplicate is just the result of bad eyesight, brung on by a weakness in the barriers of Mundus, which leaks excess amounts of Aetherical stuff in (it's sort of like looking at the sun). Sadly, they don't seem to make eye-lenses to correct this; I suggest seeing your local Mage's Guild for an alternative fix.

It's a mix of mysticism, alteration, and conjuration that EVERYONE is capable of.

You first use mysticism to create an instant item soultrap, but since no item actually has a soul, it is changed into a pair of rabbits via alteration. You cast soultrap once more and the rabbits begin to breed and as they do so, you cast summon copied item into your inventory. The more rabbits you have breeding, the more duplicated rabbit/items you receive.

The two answers to all things Lore

Hey, CHIM is really the answer for this one. As the ability to reshape the world at will by knowing truly what it is, it explains any cheat, bug or glitch you can exploit.

Dragonbreak also makes sense if you think about it. two alternative realities caused by the introduction of a new godforce (your character) which ends up with multiple possibilities for all the things you can do, confusing time and causing duplication. think dagerfall -- hell of a duplication glitch then.

@proweler: you beat me too it :P

When someone shoots an arrow through the air, and a fountain of the items appears, the character broke the Space-Time Continuum and, for all intents and purposes, became a god for the slightest of seconds, by accident.

Which glitch; the scroll or arrow? For scroll, maybe if you combine two scrolls writings over each other, it forms magical writing of hilarious power.
