The same reason female Imperials are shorter than male Imperials. Duh.

There's a thread about it http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=787728&hl=female+bosmer.

This makes me wonder as to the Valenwood in Shivering Isles accident(?) on the map. If Syl and Thadon are both Bosmer, and the map has Valenwood... does no one else think that's suspicious?

Spoiler
The map for the SI that materializes when you get there says Valenwood on it. Or maybe the GOTY map does, can't remember.

It does...? It didn't for me :P
Then agien, I don't have GOTY, so I assume thats why.
In anycase, I am going to assume it was a simple mistake.

this is starting to get up there with CHIM in terms of thread creations, though this is a bit less deep. Should a faq be posted about this?

3 or so threads is getting up with the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?act=Search&CODE=show&searchid=049678ff5db60edc134a838ab2adfe7f&search_in=titles&result_type=topics&highlite=%2BCHIM threads about CHIM already made? There are less threads with the word Bosmer in the title than there are about CHIM.

No, I don't think so. Especially since someone should really tackle CHIM first. But there are two obstacles to this. The person who made the original FAQ is gone, so it can't easily be edited. Second, no one eloquent and knowledgeable enough wants to get off their arses to make a new FAQ or write new descriptions.

Maybe that could explain why so many are crazy :cheat:

But in any case, male Bosmer are shorter than female Bosmer because that's the way they are. It's been an established fact for some time now, and I doubt there's a detailed lore explanation as to why it's that way.

My guess is Bethesda did it because they thought it would be unique, since in most races males are taller than females, or about the same size, they decided that reversing the trend with Bosmer would make them different.

God, what is it going to take to get Bethesda to stop making all these blatant mistakes?!! They have a whole entire team and not one of them can correct something so simple!

They're all human, though. No need to get all "mobsy" on them.

I think its because they have reversed puberty. Normally females have their puberty before males, so males are usually taller because when their puberty ends they start growing again in their high school years. Wood Elves are reversed so the females have a later puberty. This is what I think. Like it. Hate it. Study it. I dont care. Im a fool anyway.

well on the cover of the Shivering Isles case (for Xbox 360 at least)...it says Nibben Bay instead of Niben Bay. you know you're a TES fan when you can point out spelling mistakes on the packaging :P
