BUT THE MORROWIND DUMNER WERE BADDASS YOU N'WAH!!!!

morrowind voices, and make the facial features apear more morrowindy, the very pointy ears, the piercings, the way their skin was.

make hand to hand usefull

make magic LOADS better, introduce physics (electrify the water?) and some creativity.

improve combat.try making it so that if everything in the game was lost except for the combat mechanic, the game would stand up on its own.

ai, everything related to ai.

lore friendlyness

optimization + photorealism

Yay to that!!! Just replaying, and tab navigating is probably one of the most painful thing I do (not many mods used).
There is so much unused screen space. Use it! Also how ESC brings up main menu instead of exiting opened menu annoys me.

But if I had to, I'd say rewamp the crime system (and how guards reacts/spots you).

To fix one thing from Oblivion would be to fix AI tactics, specifically in this situation:

If you are sneaking and have ranged a foe from a distance then that enemy should not own their space only to forget they were attacked moments later. They should note the direction of danger and react accordingly by retreating to another area and calling for help ( preferably archers ) and sending a scout or dogs to root out the direction of your attack. Perhaps their mage can send an exploding fireball down the corridor before melee rushes in. The player should not have continued stealth opportunities because of a foe that cannot control his own battlefield and forgets repeated shots on his health from a sneaky rogue.

IMHO, take the Morrowind's formula, and add to it Oblivion's or even better Fallout's, or even better Skyrim's advanced technology and rub the inconsistencies out and give it the Skyrim's theme and setting, without changing the Morrowind's formula a lot, and it would be perfect.

Edit: A tiny bit of "Mount and Blade" wouldn't come amiss.

so what if it gets rid of the mainstream audience, it just strengthened the Morrowind following

Morrowind is gone... time to move on. And without the mainstream audience there would be no ESV. Are you a fan of TES or just Morrowind? Oblivion was a great game in my opinion and there is great things to take from both games but i want to see Skyrim in a whole new light which i am sure it will be. I think its gonna be fresh. The combat system needs a new approach i think, swords etc reacting to when you make contact. Some spells should be instant, slow moving fire balls are no good these days, they need to have fury! And a new advanced system when interacting with NPC's instead of the big face on the screen look, so dated!

you know that whole paragraph was satirical, I actually think Oblivion is better than Morrowind, I was just saying that to prove a point

I say leveling system needs a revamp! whats the point in leveling up if everything just goes up with me? its cool that generic NPCs in towns do it but I want SATISFACTION in killing that level 20 minotaur that was blocking my way from some high level loot. and since when do bandits feel the need to wander the roads attacking every passerby when they're in full glass wielding a daedric mace? surely they could retire at some point haha

Give Dunmers back their rightful voice.

Hell yeah!
If I could change one thing it would be all about the dunmers

They looked damn amazing in Morrowind, in Oblivion they just looked too much the same as any other human race, faces where too round, and the skin color was, welll ... strange oO
And the voice definatelly has to be changed

One more thing I totally disliked was the jumping animation, how about adding some more, so if you jump over a stone or out of little height you should have to rest on your hands or if you fall from high rocks you will roll over your shoulder etc.

Cause its so nice to think about changes there's another thinking :D
I will be allowed to kill people without getting any bounty!
Come on, in this [censored] house is none more than me and my victim, why do I get a damn bounty after attacking him and why does it even raise after I killed him, that doesn't make any sense ...
If he will be afraid like a little kid cause of getting his head smashed by a little claymore and runs out of the house and screams like hell, yes than its OK to get a bounty, as far as there are some more people, but if I kill him without any witnesses, no bounty please. Maybe the people in the region could be more suspicious then.
