Modifying weapons & Spell deletion

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:11 am

1) Can anyone point me to something that tells you how to modify weapons? I have the Light of Dawn (which I think is an OOO weapon) powered up to maximum and I'd like to remove the annoying light effect that causes it to flash with every hit.

2) Can anyone recommend a good spell deletion mod? I remember finding one on google a while back but it was an old one and the description suggests that you use a more up to date one for some reason.

1) Just open up OOO in the CS and remove the light effect from its enchantment.

2) COBL has a spell delete feature.

Hmm.., COBL is quite large, isn't it? I'd like to have a spell-removal tool that only does that. :D

Well, EVERYONE should be using COBL no matter what. So, hmph. But, there's Expanded Hotkey and Spell Delete... it also has expanded hotkeys (duh :P), but it's smaller than COBL... I don't know if there's anything that specifically does spell delete and ONLY spell delete

I'll stick with the manual version, then ^^ I don't want COBL because at the moment, my game works. I can play for hours without a crash (8 hours gametime today, all at once!). I don't want to add anything that makes big changes to it. If it's not broken, don't fix it, you know? :D Since it's a FCOM install, you can see why I don't want to mess around with it.

COBL is truly wonderful though, and I run FCOM and COBL, and have very few crashes.

It really is surprisingly good. Subtle, but good.

With FCOM you have Wrye Bash, which also can remove spells. So then you don't have to add anything at all. :)

The spell delete function is part of WryeBash, COBL is separate. Bash doesn't add anything to the game and shouldn't have any affect on stability. It's a fantastic utility with many features; everyone should have it. (I admit it is a little hard to install but worth it)

I didn't know Bash could remove spells... that's awesome. I didn't have reason to look in the saves section yet.

Bash is pretty easy to install, actually. Doing things with it takes time :/ Right now, I just use it for the bashed patch, which is needed for FCOM.

The spell deletion in COBL is more or less a duplicate of my mod Spell Deletion:

That one does look just like what I wanted. Though with Bash doing it, I don't need an extra mod :) Bookmarking it, though.
