Well, from what we know. Just before The Great War, nations were in VERY high risk of war and some were at war. From what we know, the European Union collapsed and countries there warred each other. Apart from China and America duking it out with nuclear weapons, we arent 100% what happens globally except 'chaos'.

We really have no idea apart from:

1) US annexed Canada. (This American wonders why the Canadians didn't rightfully march across the border to punish us for this)

2) UN was dissolved. EU collapsed and they were fighting each other.

3) Resource Wars that lasted from 2066-2077.

4) China invades Alaska for whatever resources Alaska had left and US pushes them out.

5) The Great War. Entire civilizations are wiped out in the two hours it raged. Seas burn and entire countries vanish beneath the waves or altered beyond recognition. I imagine that as soon as either China or US started nuking, it gave the other countries the OK to start nuking each other.

I was thinking about this the other day. Countries in South America and Africa aren't really connected to any of the major global powers. The only reason for anyone to nuke a country in Africa would have been out of spite. Of course, with the global climate shifts that come with a global nuclear war, no place on earth would be completely untouched. But you'd have to think that South America and Africa would be in pretty good shape.

Hadly. There's more to it than just global war. You've got the fall of international trade and order to deal with as well.
