[RELz] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch #2

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:22 am

Now I get a crash when entering the Anchorage simulation, very disappointing since this is the first time I've tried to play the OA. Display goes white which I think it's suppossed to do then crashes. Probably not related to the UF3P.
That's AddAchievement 51

How come I don't know about this (remove achievements)? Guess I've been away from the game and the forums too long. Only came back when all 5 DLCs were available.

I have only ever run Fallout3 offline, I've never signed on to xLive. You can't get the achievements anyway when you run offline. Why are achievements still there when they are completely and totally useless when offline? Who designed such a borked up system?

Oddly I've never had crashes like this till I installed the DLC. To make the users go to such an extent (fixing the bugs) to run a game is almost inexcusable. And to make the users pay for the privilege of enduring all these crashes is an insult. [end of rant]

Anyway, thank you very much for the Achievement Remover.

[Update] The Achievement Remover worked as advertised, OA simulation started first time I tried it.

Blame it on Captain Howdy? The AddAchievements need (IsXbox == 1) checks is my theory. Anyhow, you're quite welcome and I hope it helps you get into the sim. Shouldn't you be playing in the snow or something? :P

Some things I've noticed:

One of the brotherhood of steel guys at GNR radio (inside, near the entrance), has the greeting 'hello again'. However his voice is suddenly interrupted at 'hell', every time. Same thing happens when you talk with
Spoiler
Dad through the intercom next to the water pump control, when he greets you with 'everything's alright?', you only hear 'eh'.

Also I think that the spoken lines from almost every brotherhood of steel character are very difficult to hear, because they're far less loud than the normal voices. I don't know if anything could be done about that.

It's caused by something screwy with the voice modulator. Notice that it only happens on ones that get the radio garble.

I was wrong, the issue still persists. Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel causes crashes in rivet city

I also have this problem. Not sure what about the esp is causing it though =/

Orphaned references in the worldspace group. Sometimes, with FO3Edit while copying cell, worldspace, and dialogue records, records and/or groups of records copy over without their parents, thus leaving them 'orphaned'. In this particular case, it was references from Fallout3.ESM which Beth had Ctrl+X'd ("deleted") in Broken Steel.ESM which UF3P removes in a stable, reliable manner. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jwhxz4h0tm0's a fixed version which assigns those references to their appropriate cells for the time being until Quarn releases an update.

http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa150/JustinCoherent/Fallout%203/OrphanedReferences.png. If you ever see this in TES4Edit or FO3Edit, delete the children, save, then reload and try again as sometimes it takes multiple attempts before intact subrecords will copy over and they're REALLY easy to miss since they're hidden as subrecords.

Thanks for that, FO3Edit isn't something I've ventured to use yet.

It's the bee's knees. I love FO3Edit and highly recommend anyone playing or making TES4 and/or FO3 mods learn to use, particularly now the there's a http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1030353&hl= about using it.
