Black Marsh Mod

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:00 pm

I'm currently working on adding the Black Marsh to Morrowind. I am just starting to build it, and have it planned to be done around June/July-ish. Since I have read The Infernal City (and learned at little bit more about Black Marsh), and read the whole Argonian and Black Marsh pages at the http://imperial-library.info website, I think I can create a completely lore-friendly addition to Morrowind. If you have any ideas or suggestions, want to help out, or even if you think this mod is a complete waste of my time, please PM me or reply below.

Thanks,
Jake

Are you serious?!? You wanna finish the WHOLE landmass of Black Marsh in 3 - 4 Month? Maybe you are the most experianced and quickest Exterior builder here at Bethesda Forums or you have a totaly distorted view of what you are planning to do

Anyways, good luck

Lets not go that road! It wil only start a flame war. Yes we get people coming on and saying how long its gonna take them to do this and that. BUT no one sticks to what they say and the apologise for it as the mod take more and more time. ITs common practice. Lets just leave it at that.

I think that you should join the current black marsh porject thats been linked above - alot of work has already been done and they need help :)

I thought Zackg was working on Argonia/Black Marsh alone, while excepting help for his Cyrodiil project.

Anyway, if he's excepting help on Black Marsh, you should definately join his project. It would certainly be quicker :D

Hey, now, let's not get riled up against each other here. :(

Why doesn't each person make an area of Black Marsh? Better still, if they're interiors-as-exteriors they can simply be linked together when they're done if people want them to.

Either way, it's up to the modder to make exactly what they want in their own way. If he wants to join the other project, that would be great - but in my experience having lots of people working on a project is no more guarantee of speed or even completion than one person working alone. Given how many "Seyda Neen expansion" mods have been made over the years, it seems that duplication can often be a good thing, since no two people's ideas are exactly alike.

I don't know about that, I think having more people working on a single project is a reliable way of speeding up a project and completing it rather than one person working alone, especially on something as large as this.

Duplication is a good thing, yeah, but when you're talking about remaking a whole province, which is larger, with more settlements, more NPCs and quests, and more diverse and most likely detailed models than the original game, if you do it right, it's just not reasonable to expect to make it all on your own. Just think of the humungous size of a province mod, and it becomes obvious.

The idea of each person making a small area of Black Marsh is a good idea, and joining the existing argonia project is even better.
My advice, FlamingPlatypus, is to just mod whatever you want, it's a hobby not a job. :)
I'm just giving advice.

You should definately look at Riller-Mosh! It's the only Black Marsh like mod released that's playable!
