Door Help

Hello.

I'm a newbie modder and just got my hands dirty with making a trader, so I get most of the lingo.

Anyways, I'm using http://www.calislahn.com/downloads/housebuilding.pdf tutorial, and got stuck on the 'doors' section. I have no idea what a doorjam is. As far as I am aware I need a door to be able to use the house properly. If anyone could give me a explanation on how to make a proper working door, I'd be thankful.
I appreciate any help.

A doorjam is the door frame that holds the door.

The best way to see what the parts are is to go through the statics in the CS and drag the various parts into either a cell you create for the purpose or into the render window. That way you can see what each piece looks like like, and get an idea of how they fit together.

Alternatively, you could reverse enigineer a few houses and see what parts were used and how they were assembled. Just do whatever you want and exit without saving, and you can learn a lot.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I'll have to poke around like you said. Also, does just placing a bed from the Static tab make it sleepable in?

No. There's only a few Static beds, but they don't have a script attached.
Functional beds are under the Activator tab, and they have the Bed_Standard script attached.

Well, the 'dissect a door' trick isn't working because the CS hates me.
Does anyone know any good house tutorials?

Just a note of encouragement... The CS hates everyone at first. When I first tried to use it, I was so disgusted that I didn't open the CS for 6 months after my initial attempts.

Oh cow. I expected to come back to some form of scolding. This might sound cheezy but this is by far the best community I've been in yet.

Checking out that tutorial now.
