Container help

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:35 am

Is there a way to make a portable container? Say, like a Bag of Holding (D&D players know what I mean) that I can place wherever and stash all my stuff in?

I can make a Bag in the CS by simply editing a sack and saving it as a new object, but when I go to place at pc, it ends up half-buried in the ground, so I'm thinking I need to make a portable Bag that I can drop like a normal carryable item and, well, not have it half-buried in the ground when I do so.

Or is there a better way? Or is there no way at all?

Thanks!

Guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone else thought of it, but I want to make my own portable containers rather than depend on someone else's mod for it, if it can be done.

Well, studying how complex problems have been addressed by other modders usually pays.

Yeah, that's why I was asking.

It'll be worth downloading the mod to check out.

Yes, making a working container is not something easy, you have to activate it at each reload, move the player to the cell where the real container is and back, so looking at a complete mod is much better to understand how things work.
Best container mod I've found so far is CD Cooley's InventoryHelpers.esp, it uses MWSE/MGE to add automatic handling of item categories.
CDC's http://home1.gte.net/cdcooley/ seems to be down at the moment, I can give you a temporary upload link if you want to give the mod a try/study it

Sure, that sounds great :)

By the way, are you the same "abot" behind the Tempus Fugit Ring?
