More Generic fantasy Enemies or more Original.

So, where do you guys stand on this? Let me explain.

Morrowind had a lot of unique enemies like all the ash creatures, wild life, and certain types of undead.

Oblivion had more generic fantasy creatures like minotaurs, ogres, and trolls and such (But they all had a unique spin on them)

Now, before someone says I'm bashing Oblivion, I'm not. I actually liked that it was generic after Morrowind's creatures.

Where do you guys stand on this? I personally hope for a lot of new unique enemies but some remaining generic ones as well.

I have always appreciated the lore in the ES series, but enjoy new lore over re-invented lore.

I like craziness that I've never seen before.

"Um...what's that...a giant flea? ATTACK!!!!"

 um, nothing's happening"

Ya, I liked that :)

Both of course. There will always be room for classic fantasy monsters.

For some reason all I thought about when I read this was Magikarp using splash.

I like new enemies. The newer the better. I would say that the difference of enemies in Morrowind and Oblivion has to do with the fact they are different regions. You don't find many many kangroos running around in the wild in Wisconsin. Same as you don't have any cliff racers in Oblivion.

In my corner there is.

But I understand what you're saying, which is why I hope Skyrim will have some Exotic creatures.

I hope there is a blend. Dragons popping out from around a corner, but also some grizzly bears.

I liked Oblivion's mix in that regards and I hope skyrim will be the same.

I was just thinking about this earlier today actually.

While I liked the originality in Morrowind, and think that Oblivion could have used a little bit more of it (I don't recall there being any creatures in Oblivion that weren't recycled from some other fantasy setting, besides maybe dreughs), I think the creatures used in Oblivion did fit with the setting, so I guess I can't really complain.

That being said, I think it would be fine if Bethesda just combined what they did with MW and OB, and added in some of the creatures from OB while still inventing some original, Skyrim-specific creatures. I mean, we know from Oblivion that real world and other-fantasy-setting creatures exist in the TES universe, and some of them seem like they would fit just fine within Skyrim, so why not add them? Also, we've seen Beth's creativity from playing Morrowind, so why couldn't they think up some new, location-specific creatures for SR?
