Is it just me or is this game missing something . . Like idk, Companions . In fallout we get semi-permanent companions and even pets in fallout 1-3. All I'd like us a trained dog that wil follow me and I can interact with . . Other than the shivering isles Zombie Dog thing

Even though it seems like Oblivion is a step back from Fallout, it was actually the cool summon and command spells that gave the designers the idea to add that stuff to the world of Fallout.

You could also try going down the Mage, Arena and Dark Brotherhood quests. They do have companions late in the quests that will follow you. They are not 'pets,' but at least you can throw the Adoring Fan off the top of the highest cliff.

After well over 500 hours together, my elf is very attached to her precious black mare. Sure, mods and the PC command console can help enrich horse ownership, but aren't really required.

In vanilla, she can fast travel to her current location and boom - she only moves a few feet, but the horse appears at her side. She has a 2 minute walk on water spell for the horse. She has several command creature spells for the horse ranging up to 2 minutes duration.

If on PC, oh my goodness: Saddlebags, more speed, gorgeous cosmetic touches, behavior/animation improvements, naming the horse, making the horse essential if you like, portable campsite so you can camp with the horse when traveling, bringing the horse into towns (or heck, even big dungeons if you want), . . . .
