The sins of time

The beginning of the end

"Why do we ask ourselves such pittiful questions when we face certain death, the might of a greater being, the shine of the stars, the natural order of the universe, do we believe, truly, believe in such things, tell me, do you believe in the blatancy of such?"

The talon merc looked the figure, shreiking in fear, he responded " What the hell are you talking about, just let me go, I swear, I won't ever go near you again, I swear!"

" Do not tell me you swear, for you have de-sanctified your own belief, you believe in nothing except the profit of death from the meek and hopeless, and you now plead for mercy, how do you live with yourself knowing you cannot hold onto belief? Why has humanity ceased to progress, because we ceased to believe, and that is why you and me are here"

The mysterious figure then picked up the decapitated head of the mercenary band's leader. He held it up firmly in the dim light of Anacostia crossing, moonlight pouring in the gruesome scene..

" Please, man, I'll do anything, I swear, I'll believe, just let me go and Talon co will be something you didn't even know? I just want to go!"

The dark figure responded

" I am sorry, but I cannot, you are a stain , just as I am, but only more persistent. You plead yet over and over, listen to yourself. I just want to go. Go where? Do you truly believe in a home beyond this world, do you believe in the safety of a cozy bed will keep the sins of humanity from sprouting again? No, you will not leave tonight. I bid you a farewell, any regrets before seeing the blinding flash of truth?"

The Talon merc started crying, tears raining down his grizzled cheeks

" God, why don't you just go away, I just wanna go ho-........"

The silence of the area endeavoured while the sound of a gunshot persisted.

" And so they say, ashes to ashes, I say sins to sins"

The figure then walked away, leaving no trace but that of the merc team.

" The end of the beginning is near, the four horseman of the apocalypse have truly arrived, first the sins of a holy man, then the sins of humanity, the raining of fire, and the final swift strike, of the fourth horseman."

Should I go on with this fan-fic or should I ditch it?

The Trial of a species

The figure who had been at Anacostia, who killed the mers, is called Augustus. He walked down the broken alleyways of Grayditch where there had recently been an attack by some sort of mutated ant.Reports by Augustus's contacts reported that he would find a Doctor Lesko inside, the man responsible for the suffering of so many. Augustus walked down the halls, shooting ants in the forehead with his extended barrel Glock 98 Plasma pistol he found in a old military bunker. He ran across the pipe strewn, narrow, corridors until he found a mechanical door with a sign next to it saying " Leskos lab". This was yet another fool.

"Doctor Lesko?"

The doctor opened the door and looked at Augustus. He was shocked that he had many pre-war items. A long great-coat, a plasma pistol in mint condition, and a leather belt.

" My, my, seems you have quite the equipment there. Let me just take them and I will let you......"

" I am sorry Lesko, but you must pay. You have spilled the blood of more innocents today then you have with your other atrocities. Science, the gaining of knowledge isn't a worthy candidate to replace the lives of humanity."

Lesko chuckled and replied

" Well, if you think about it, human lives will sometimes be necessary to gain knowledge."

" Until what Lesko? Until there are no more human beings left to use? To manipulate? No, you cannot continue your existence"

" Wait, how dare you threaten me in my own lab! Protectron, kill him!"

A cluncky robot appeared from another mechanical door, firing its laser at Augustus. He simply laughed, dodged, and then placed three plasma shots into the protectron, crippling its circuits.

" Uhm, how about we think about this, I give you this mutagen I worked on, a bio-enhancement and we forget this ever happened?"

" Give it to me"

Lesko threw a syringe over to Augustus. Once Augustus catched it he simply removed any caps and injected it into his blood stream. He could see his veins doubling in size, his muscles began to bulge, and his eyes were like perfectly clear lenses.

" Thank you, any regrets before seeing the blinding light of truth, Doctor Lesko?"

Lesko's face turned from a smile to a pale gasp

" Wait, what are you doi-"

Augustus lifed Lesko up, like a ragdoll, and grabbed one of his scalpels. Using his right hand he jammed it right into Leskos eye. Piercing his tinted glasses, Lesko screamed in horror. Then a quick snap was heard. Lesko was dead.

" Sins for Sins"

Augustus walked away and simply opened the metro gate and began to walk. His next area for vindication was the site where he would accomplish his true goal. B.O.M.B 002 was a nuclear armament and deployment site. If Augustus could find a way on how to get past the Brotherhood, he could finish his goal.

" The fourth horseman comes down with a mighty strike, blowing upon him all of humanity, engulfing it in flaming, purifying fire"

So, shall I go on?

He ran across the pipe strewn, narrow, corridors

Great update, but you misused the word 'strewn'. Strewn would be used as something scattered across the ground for example.

I.E. The shattered bits of the glass cup lay strewn across the floor.

Try editing that out. Other than that, a few puncuation errors. But great story so far.

Alright, third chapter on its way.

Concrete coffin

Elder Lyons looked into the monitor. It flickered twice and displayed a video.

" As you can see sir, the patrols we lost three weeks ago were indicated to be caused by this fellow. So far contacts report that he works for some kind of group, he had insiders, every corner of the wasteland"

Elder Lyons sat down on one of the chairs in the room while watching the video of this figure, slaughtering his entire patrol in less than seven minutes.

" How much of a threat he is?"

" Sir, by statistical stats, he couldn't take the citadel in a million years. Now if we take into consideration our individual patrols in the wastes, let us say that he would deplete the wasteland of inhabitants in a mere 3 months"

Elder Lyons coughed

" So then what are we to do Paladin? I do not take content in some maniac with extreme marksmanship slaughtering my men while we fight a endless battle against the super mutants AND the Enclave"

" Sir, we simply can't track him down and eliminate him. We lost Paladin Kodiak and Knight operative Gallows to him. Its simply futile. We should focus on the war and forget he exists. If we have a patrol out there, we can radio them in to leave him be. Its pointless losing a tank in the exchange of destroying an enemy soldier."

Elder Lyons groaned and coughed

" What is his purpose, to say the very least"

The Paladin frowned beneath his steel mask and replied

" Sir, we don't even know, we can't track down his contacts, the only one we busted was a man in Talon Co., and his squad dropped out a while ago, without a trace. Were blind. But we do have a theory. Sources within Talon Co. muttered about a BOMB 002. Some pre-war nuclear armament facility. It had the ability to hack all nuclear satellites in orbit around North America and most of the world. Sources are reliable, we have them on a good payroll."

Elder Lyons coughed again

" Reports of his current location, or theories?"

" Sir, we last spotted him at Fort Independence. Last time we heard, there was a Outcast signal about some sort of attack on the Fort. From our guess, thats our boy at work. He took down the outcasts."

Elder Lyons frowned again

" But you said that he could not take the citadel. If he can take on Henry Casdins band of veteran misfits, and take out an entire power armored platoon, then how can you tell me he can't take out the Citadel, guarded by conscripted wastelanders with absolutely no combat experience!"

" I'm sorry sir. It seems less likely considering we have fortified the pentagon. I doubt he would walk in un-noticed. Fort Independence, did not have much in the form of "defenses" "

----------------------------------
Fort independence

Casdin hobbled over to the maintenance closet. He closed the door and placed a lock on it. Hoping the assailant wouldn't find him, he barricaded the door and slept.

Augustus walked over the stair-well. If he could gain access to the archives, he could find the location of the BOMB 002 satellite. Immediately he saw a door in the wall. Mechanical. Augustus pulled the lever to no avail. Someone locked it, his prey locked it.

Casdin awoke to the sound of plasma shots breaching the door. The assailant was back for more.

" Damnit, bring it on!"

Casdin stood up and loaded his laser pistol with a fresh cartridge of energy cells. He shot into the openings of the wall, hoping to hit the madman behind.

Augustus waited for the familiar sound of a clip to fall and ping to the floor. As soon as he heard it, he jabbed his pistol into the nearest hole. He aimed and pulled the trigger, hearing a slight yelp as he heard Casdin fall to to floor.

" Sins to sins"

Augustus walked over to the storage quarters and found an old terminal. Opening it up and initiating a search on the files for the keyword BOMB. Quickly a nice file opened up, showing in bright green highlight, the words, " BOMB 002 data". Augustus read the file and found out that BOMB 002 was located deep within the Pentagon. Brotherhood territory. Easy prey mostly.

" Seems I get to deliver once more"

So, what do you guys think so far of this Fan-fic?

Why is he just randomly wasting everyone? Sure, this fanfic is good, but it's stupid that he has no reason to kill everyone that he sees. He just seems like a total dike.

1. He is a madman

2. The Talon guy was his contact, and he gave info to the brotherhood.

3. Doctor Lesko was on his contact list, and he didn't deliver

4. The story will explain itself in the next chapter, Courtesy of your questions.

5. Ft. Independence had the info on BOMB 002. ( Remember, he has contacts all around. Who knows who he has on the payroll.....)

1000 days of thunder

Augustus walked down the debris strewn alley-ways of downtown Washington D.C. On the horizon he could see his target, the Citadel. It was fortified nicely, but guarded by pathetic idiots who couldn't hit the barn side of a door. Augustus simply chuckled and moved on towards a collapsed building bending over the left side of the Citadel. It would be the perfect opportunity to put the Convents training to the test. Augustus readied his armaments and simply broke the door down with his boot, and continued running up the stairs. The third floor connected both the Citadel and the building. Augustus lunged to a piece of metal sticking out , almost falling off, but making it.

---------------------------------

Citadel

Elder Lyons looked uncomfortably at this troops moving across the science lab. Many of these soldiers were inexperienced. He decided that he would simply use them as a swarm, launching them at the enemy.

------------------------------------

Citadel Rooftop

Paladin Lewis was cleaning his old AE-R9 laser rifle when he saw a dark figure move across one of the guard towers. It was his job to keep this side of the citadel secured. Lewis moved up from his chair and walked towards the figure.

" Anyone there, this is Brotherhood territory, you should leave right now"

Right before Lewis could turn his head, the last thing he saw was his snapped forehead reflecting across the blood that he lost.

Augustus simply crawled onward, taking the laser rifle Lewis had and the ammo. It would come in handy. Sightseeing initiates training, Augustus decided it would be better if he found some way on how to distract them from him. He thought about it. There was an alarm jutting out of the rooftop, makeshift probally. Crouching down he moved slyly and opened the module for the alarm switch. The second he activated it a loud siren could be heard through the whole courtyard. Brotherhood soldiers quickly were moving up the stairs to the roof, thinking there was a super mutant attack. Augustus held on to a the roof top while he jump in through one of the many windows. Once inside, he could see that this was an abandoned area. Crawling through the interior, Augustus reached the Citadel Lab, all but unguarded by one soldier. Augustus simply took aim and fired a shot into the mans chest. Watching his very lungs vaporize was a sight. Moving down the corridors Augustus found the "Smithy" room.

" Give me a revelation"

Augustus opened the old terminal. Inside of it was the file he wanted on BOMB 002. He found out the control systems were locked in place and he would have to go to Rivet City to access the Navy command console aboard the carrier. Augustus shot the computer and left the Lab. He moved up the abandoned corridors of the Citadel, but before he could leave, he wanted to kill the leader of the BOS. It would be a simple task fit. Moving towards the innards of Citadel B area, he found a few rooms empty of its troops. Still on guard duty Augustus thought. He walked into a room called the "Lyons den". When he walked in, he found several BOS troops inside, resting on their beds. One of them woke up and saw Augustus.

" Wake up, we have an intruder!!!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elder Lyons was listening to the Radio when he heard energy weapons discharge across the hallways. When he finally sat up, Sarah Lyons came crashing through is door, limping, holes all over her armor.

" Father, someone infiltrated the Citadel and he just slaughtered us. Lyons pride is gone, who is he?"

Just before Elder Lyons could respond Sarah Lyons head popped. Green plasma fire replacing it.

" No!!!"

Augustus walked in the room, stepping over the body of Sarah Lyons.

" Are you the one they call Elder Lyons?"

Elder Lyons was red with anger.

" Yes.."

" Then I suppose I should put you out of your misery"

Augustus raised his plasma pistol and shoot Elder Lyons three times in the chest, burning right through him. Augustus the ran back to the abandoned area and left through one of the windows. He began his next great walk to Rivety City.
