My experience with TES is limited to Morrowind and Oblivion only. It's difficult to nail down my favorite moments because there are so many. But there are two that come to mind most often. I remember picking up Oblivion the day it came out. I went home and installed it and started playing that night (Yes, I have the rated-T version). I remember I had just exited a cave, and jumped on my steed. I rode up a grassy hill, stode up to the edge of the cliff and looked over. I could see water, trees, grass, plants, and off in the distance I could see the Imperial City. It was a site to behold. I looked at my watch and saw it was already 2:00am and time for bed. It was this defining moment that I realized I was going to be living in this world for quite some time.
After living in Oblivion for oh, I don't know?several months at least, I was thinking back on some of the places I had explored. I remembered a cave I entered. It spiralded down. There was a waterfall and different rocky banks. I remember having to navigate from embankment to embankment down, down, down into this very unique place. I moved through trying to clear it out for it was crawling with undead. It was no easy task. I felt I was in over my head, but slowly and surely, I made my way through several rooms. I finally made it into this beautiful chamber. I was confronted, but able to defeat the creature, just barely. I was just barely alive. Strait ahead, I saw a chest. Fortunately, I was able to pick the lock. It was a good thing too for inside, I found a well placed set of armour as well as some other goodies. It was magnificant. I quickly stripped off my wimpy armour I was using and replaced it with this nice set, not a full set mind you, but an excellent upgrade. These goods had value, actually meant something to me. I strode off to find the exit. It was at this moment that I realized my little tedious diversion into this cave was well worth the effort. Then I realized, Oh yeah, that was Morrowind! This was probably my most memorable memory of any game I've payed. I know, kinda silly. It was nothing over the top or thrilling, but in a way, it was because it was at this moment that I realized just how immersive and unique this world really was, never knowing what may be around the next corner. In 2002 there wasn't anything else like it that I could remember. This was my defining moment. The moment that TES became something more then just another casual game. It was a game I could truly immerse myself in.
