You should start your own thread if you need help, instead of taking over someone elses :)

Talk to the Overseer once you have the replacement water chip.

The higher resolution patches don't make the game look any 'better' but they do give you the option of running it in a resolution greater than 640x480. I've tried it and I don't really see an improvement, it just makes things harder to spot because everything is displayed smaller. They do include the option of 32-bit colour settings, but to behonest when I activate that it makes no difference whatsoever, I don't know if that's my error or what, but it's my personal opinion that high resolution isn't much of a visual improvement.

However I've heard of a project called 'Mutants Rising' but I can't seem to find out what it is 'exactly'. Then again I haven't looked into it much. But it hints at an artistic overhaul, Ausir will probably be able to shed some light on it :P

As for graphical overhauls, or maybe from a different perspective, an engine overhaul, I can see this a possibility if a team thought it was worth their time. An upgrade based on Fallout: Tactics would be a good start, or even Van Buren if the engine is similar (I haven't seen any footage so I don't know).

Yeah I tried the higher resolution but my Asus P5N-D has issue with the game now =/

By the looks of it, having FO1 and 2 onto FO:Tactic is very do-able but who knows if they are even using the same engine. Even Morrowind and Oblivion being very similar in alot of ways would still take alot of work.

I'm going to be honest here: I did start a new character in F1, but I gave up at Shady Sands. It might have been awesome back then, but now, it just isn't entertaining enough.

Yup.
My heart just isn't in it any more.
It's really hard for me to replay any game.
Once I know how the story goes I just lose interest.
I've only played FO3 twice, though I put in about 200 hrs on each.
To me, that says a hell of a lot about how good FO3 is.
FO3 is the 1st game I've gotten into making mods for also.
Half the reason I want the Pitt is for some new tile sets.

EDIT
Talk to the Overseer once you have the replacement water chip.

That is possibly my favorite part of the whole game.
I was so tempted to do it again when Amata turned me away.

I replayed both Fallout1 &2 with the Killap mod (plus Torment and Arcanum), whilst waiting for F3 to be released.
I have been watching the Beth site for news since they started advertising for staff to make Fallout 3.
To be honest, and to answer the op's question, I have zero interest in returning to those games (for a while).

Have been thinking about other old Troika titles a bit lately though.

But I'm really hoping for another new RPG to eat some of my time.

I'm still waiting for my Fallout Collection from Amazon. I did want to play FO 1 and 2 before and after beating FO 3.
