Large items under the Imperial Palace?

Post » Wed May 23, 2012 9:28 am

Hello! I'm a longtime lurker of the lore forums and this is my first thread. Anyway, one thing that has always bothered me was: what's up with the giant club, chair, and crystal ball inside the Imperial Palace basemant? I know the hourglass is for opening up the secret passage in the sewers, but has there ever been an explanation or maybe some monkey lore for the other stuff? One theory I have is perhaps it belongs to an educated giant of whom the Elder Council is keeping quiet about?

I've heard some like the explanation that they were for Sanguine's use.

Sanguine, Prince of Hedonism, lords over no less than ten times ten thousand pleasure pockets of the Void. As revelry and drunken stupor fall under this Prince’s influence, he has been a favorite of many Emperors since the first foundation. Records even indicate that he resided in White-Gold Tower during the reign of Reman Cyrodiil and helped in the somewhat dubious draftsmanship of the Crendali Festivals, whose vulgarities did little to help Imperial expansion into Alinor and the other Summersets.

You never know, that might not have belonged to Sanguine.

I think in the cut part of the 3rd edition Pocket Guide to the Empire, where the Daedric lords were talked about, it was mentioned that Sanguine frequented Reman’s court. Later he was like “I’m out, man.” [Attempt at a groan sound of Sanguine’s for effect] Reman out-Daedra’d the Daedra.
