You need to get to Chevy chase:

There are actually Brotherhood of Steel tags on some subway entrances, and in some subway tunnels, that indicate that is a way to the GNR Outpost. You can follow those signs if you find them.

Locked? Yes, you have to help defend the plaza from the super mutants, then speak into the intercom to gain access.

I'm probably gonna post this as another thread, but I was wondering if someone could help me.

I'm just at the end of the Galaxy News Radio quest, standing in Chevy Chase, and the only thing left to do is to talk to Mad Dog. I can't open the door to GNR, it says it's locked I need a key. I try the intercom, but the guy just says "The door's unlocked, quit buzzing me" (which so does not help hahaha).

So, basically what I'm asking is HELP. This has been driving me nuts for months, and I thought it was something that needed to be updated through LIVE, but apparently that's not the case.

The only way around that bug is to pick the Very Hard locked door on the side of the building to get inside.

Damn, really? I'm only a 32 lock picking skill and that one's a 100... any advice on how to build that up really quick?

Books, bobblehead, Thief/Tag perks, Mentats, Vault 101 Utility Jumpsuit. The Lucky 8 Ball and Luck bobblehead would boost you an additional point too.

Alright, thanks. I'll spend some time roaming and building that up. It's been forever since I've played so I don't mind.

Do you mind explaining what you mean by "Thief/Tag perks"? Like I said, it's been forever since I've been playing.

The Thief perk boosts your Lockpick and Sneak skills by 5 points. If you took the Tag perk, you could tag Lockpick as an additional skill (provided you haven't already chosen Lockpick as a tagged skill) and that would instantly raise it by 15 points.
