Morrowind & Sneak Toggle, Where They

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:15 am

What sneaking toggle's are out there? I'm interested in a mod that toggles sneaking on and off just like oblivion. I got a character that uses the sneaking skill but its really tiring to hold the sneak key down constantly. I would prefer if the mod didn't require a 3rd party program to be run in the background to work.

well... i put a cion in the slot between my sneak key and the next. the euro 1cent coin slides exactly in and holds it without pressing any other key. and you can take it out very easy without the danger of breaking something :)

MGE? This just isn't fair for those of us with older PC's that play with Sneak characters.

It was written on a computer with a 1Ghz CPU, 256MB of RAM and a GeForce 2 GPU so MGE 3.03 (I think) should work fine on just about anything. I can use the latest version of MGE on my newer (4 years old) computer fine even though its graphics card is severely lacking (6150LE).

Regarding other Toggle Sneak mods, there was one that used Action Script but I am unsure if it is around any more.

Can I run MGE on a computer with an Intergrated Craphics (not a typo) card? Specifically an Intel G33/G31 chipset Family? I believe I asked this before and the answer was no.

While it will work on integrated graphics chips from nVidia and ATI, I don't think the Intel Integrated Chips work. Last time I tried it the result was a lot of rendering errors. I haven't tried it with the slightly newer G33/G31 family but I wouldn't be hopeful.

Personally I use my xbox pad with http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Xpadder.shtml, which allows me to toggle sneak, by simulating it being constantly pressed, instead of just one press.

i got 2 ghz and 1 gb ram and a geforce 6200 - and i got a fps hit that makes the game unplayable. so maybe there are different reasons for this. the 3.something mge makes bad tex-errors in my game... all in all it seems not to be a performance or hardware prob only.

I have a 12 year old K7 AMD athlon @ 1.7ghz, with 512mb ram, and a geforce 2 64mb vram, and i run MGE on that with distant land anything upto 10 cells just fine.

Obviously i have a much better computer that i run :D

If, per chance you happen to use Xpadder and a game pad, there is a toggle option for the buttons. That's what I use. :)

Seems that many people don't realize that MGE can be run without using distantland - the program has many many other benefits besides extending the view distance. ;)

If you have an older system or graphics card not capable of generating or running distantland, don't bother with that - using MGE just for the key input scripting support for mods like http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22969 should work fine.

Sounds great, but I think I'll wait to upgrade my PC so that I can use MGE to it's full advantage (Or how much my new PC will be able to) :)

Hmm I would be interested in that one if someone could find it or point me to a reupload spot. Any who, keep it coming guys if you know of a mod that does this. I'm a bit reluctant do the coin trick as my keyboard seems to have something odd happen visually with the key right now.

Yacoby's is the only mod I know of. AFAIK, you need an external program to simulate key presses and MGE is the only that can do it, MWSE and MWE can't. So, as you can't use MGE you'll need a separate program to do it, this Action Script whatsit or Xpadder doodad or something like http://www.autohotkey.com/.
